BLUE SCOUT HAD ONLY HAD about 3 real friends in her life. Elijah Randal, who had moved to stoneybrook from ohio last year. Kristy Thomas, the daughter of her mom's friend, who she wasn't that close with anymore. And Mary Anne Spier, Kristy's best friend, Bee was closer with Mary Anne than Kristy. Oh, and Claudia Kishi, but they hadn't hung out since they were little, and didn't hang out much at that.
Everyone else had quite the distaste for Blue, wondering why she always sat in the back of the class and listened to music, rather than making friends in their class. Wondering why she and Elijah wouldn't just get together already. The tension between them had been there forever. And Eli was clearly into her. Even Eli's sister, Lily had been suspecting that something was up between them.
But the truth was, Blue didn't know what she was into. Sure, Elijah was her best friend, but she didn't seem him as more than that, at all. Blue was so lost and confused, they didn't know what was going on with them, and she hated being confused. She just wanted to go back to her room and listen to music, drown out the world.
But then the babysitter's club came along...
