Chapter 9

"Yeah I was going there anyways" Jaaliyah said as she started taking her shoes off so she could drive

"Why you going?" Spencer asked

"Business." Jaaliyah kept it short hoping he would just leave it at that

"Jaaliyah I swear-" he knew what business meant, he wasn't stupid. Jaaliyah quickly cut him off not wanting to hear one of his lectures.

"Mind yo business Spence. Whatever you're gonna ask, don't. It's gonna get you killed. We're gonna stop by the bakers house before we go tho." Jaaliyah said as Olivias swapped with Spencer

"Okay" he responded as he got in the car

"Bye Livy love" Jaaliyah smiled.

They had corny nicknames for each other because it was originally an ick the two had but when they days it to each other it didn't feel as icky

"Bye liyah bear" she responded then walked off.

"We don't speak on it." Jaaliyah said as she drove off because she could feel spencer buying a joke into her face

At the bakers house

Jaaliyah was in her room packing some clothes, a charger, and 3 pairs of shoes. She was about to take the last step to go around the corner but she heard talking so she decided to sit on the stairs and listen.

"What is it you said? Oh, that's right. "There's no one at Beverly with even half of their potential" don't get me wrong they're both amazing players but it hurts when you're on the football team and your dad said that." Jordan said. The girl had felt bad and wanted to comfort Jordan but was still incredibly mad at him so she decided against it.

Jaaliyah heard foot steps coming so she decided to act like she wasnt sitting there. She walked off the steps coming to realize that the the whole family was still there. l

"Wait you're leaving?" Jordan asked

"Uhm, I'll be back. I kinda don't have a choice but to come back but yeah. Liv I'll text you." Jaaliyah started walked towards the door and opened it

"Byeee" Jaaliyah smiled. She closed the door, took a deep breath, and walked to her car

Inside the house

"That's weird...she was just upset and crying less than 15 minutes ago now she's happy" Olivia stated

"Maybe she doesn't hold grudges." Jordan said as he shrugged and walked off

"No,she's definitely one to hold grudges. Somethings off. Imma go check her room and make sure she hasn't ruined her sobriety." Liv said walking away

"Her sobriety??" Laura asked but by that time Liv was already upstairs

Spencer and Jaaliyah walked into the James house. He sat on the couch and she sat on the floor next to Dillion.

"It's a weeknight. Moms not gonna be happy." He stated while reading a comic book
