I was sitting in my room, when the screaming started. I quickly shoved on some headphones, trying to block it out. I pressed a random playlist and Black Sheep by Saliva came on.
I heard the yelling get louder, and shoved the earphones on my head, hoping it would go away. When I still heard it, I turned it up.
Suddenly I heard stomping come up the stairs, and my eyes opened in fear, knowing that it was coming my way. I curled up, hoping that I would be spared.
How wrong I was.
The door opened, smashing against the wall with the force that had thrown it. My mother came in, angrily, my father behind her with a look of absolute fear in his eyes.
She stormed over to me and grabbed the headphones, chucking them across the room.
I curled up again, my face burying into my knees. She did not like this and grabbed ahold of my hair, pulling up my head to look her in the eyes. She used her free hand, the right one, and slapped me. Hard. It stung. I knew that it was going to leave a mark.
She kept doing this for several times, her left hand making it impossible for me to look away. She finally dropped my head, only to punch me in the knee.
Terrified, I tried to scoot away, only for her. At this rate, she was going to possibly make it impossible for me to go to school tomorrow.
Finally, she stopped my dad hunched in the corner in fear. She let out a low growl, before turning around and hitting my father several times, then forcing him up and pushing him into her room. She told me to follow and I knew better than to disobey.
I can't say what she did fully, it was horrible. I tried to avert my eyes a lot. But she locked her bedroom door once we were all inside, then forced my dad onto the bed and forced me to watch in the corner.
And I knew what she did. She beat him and raped him. She forced him to do things that left him crying, curled up on the bed when she left for work. For her nightshift. When I was sure that she was gone, I slowly got up, wincing from the pain. I walked over and curled up around my father, hugging him. I wish that there was a way that I could protect him.
We have to get out of here.
Before she kills us.
