It was the day of the second task, and Viktor Krum, Durmstrang Champion, was swimming through the Black Lake in search of Hermione Granger, the girl he was infatuated with. Time was running out, and he knew it was only a matter of time before the other contestants would find their hostage.
Truthfully speaking, he was rather terrified. He had only met the girl that year, and she was already being taken from him? No. He would not forgive himself if something happened to her during this task.
He silently cursed the идиот that planned the tasks.
As he swam through the lake, he looked around, searching for anything that might give him a clue as to where Hermione might be, and grew even more worried. What if he couldn't find her? If he failed, what would become of her? Would she be injured? Would she hate him?
He began to panic. What if she were never found?! What if-!
He ceased his internal ramblings, and with a burst of energy shot ahead, as he saw the meddlesome red headed boy that made his Hermyninny cry on the night of the Yule ball, tied to the lake bottom with a rope.
He pushed himself to go faster, faster, faster, until his body was burning from over-exertion, yet he never stopped swimming. Even faster he swam, trying to get to his love. And yet when he finally got there, he stopped in a horrified silence, for his Hermione was not there.
