"Can you get the fuck off of me?" I stared deep into his eyes, keeping a stern face. Both of his hands keeping a firm grip on me, pinning me down to the bed. I do not have time for this.

"I just want a kiss from you that is all. You used to wake me up with those sweet lips of yours every morning." I rolled my eyes at his truthful words. I squirmed underneath him, struggling to get from underneath his grip.

"Yeah, that was when we were together. But if you recall, we broke up THREE MONTHS AGO!"  I raised my voice at him, finally having enough of his bullshit. I raised my leg up, pushing him off and finally being able to get up. I looked down at my watch, the time revealing that I was running late. Shit! I quickly grabbed my purse and phone, running towards the front door.

"Alejandro! I want you out by the time I get home from work!" I yelled at my annoying ex as I left out the door. I seriously need to change my locks today. Crazy ass ex of mine never understands that we are officially done. Walking to the car, I spray some water into my fro, twisting any loose strands into place. My curls bounced as I hopped into the car and began to drive.

Walking into the office, I quickly run to my desk, struggling to put my things down and start my day.

"Damn, this is the second time you're late this week." I looked up to see my co-worker standing over me. I rolled my eyes at his comment.

"Wow Christopher, would've never taken you the type to be a creep." I snapped at him. I was not in the mood today to be dealing with his annoying remarks. I pulled the blue prints up from my work desk, getting to work right away.

"I'm not a creep Alexandra. It's just that every time you walk into the same room as me, my peace is interrupted. "

"Great to be of service to you."  Without looking, I raised my middle finger up at him. I went back to focusing on my blue prints and notes. Being a architect is possibly my greatest joy in life. Getting paid so much and being able to draw all day is honestly the best decision I made for myself.

"Alex and Chris. My office, now." I looked up from my work hearing my name. Passing by me, our boss opened the door to his office.

"If I'm being called in at the same time as you, this can't be good." Chris complained. I sighed deeply, following after the tall man. We both sat down in front of Mr.Castillo's desk. The man in front of us was not only our boss, but the owner of the architectural firm. Quite honestly, being called into his office was never really good. Almost everyone who was called in was fired. I squirmed in my seat nervously while adjusting my lavender skirt. The man cleared his throat before speaking,

"I called you in here because you'll be working on a project together." My eyes widened. Hearing a chuckle, I looked to the left of me, seeing Chris's pearly smile.

"What seems to be so funny Chris." Chris's smile faded as he sat up right in his seat. I put my hand over my mouth, stopping myself from snickering.

"Well, sir, it just seems a little...odd for us to be working on a project together." Agreeing with the man for once, I shook my head.

"Sir, Chris and I don't exactly get along. In fact, we're complete opposites and have completely different ideas. This couldn't possibly work." I protested. Castillo looked at the both of us, letting out a sigh and rubbing his face.

"I really couldn't give two flying shits if you two get along or not. I'm putting you two on the project because I believe that you two are the best architects in this whole firm." My face softened at the compliment.                                                                                                                                     "Not only will you two be paid abundantly, one of you will be rewarded a promotion. That choice will not only be in my hands. Both I and the head of representatives will be making the decision." I couldn't help but looked surprised at the new presented information. I could possibly be promoted? I tried to hold my excitement back in me.

"I can speak for both myself and Christopher and we would love to take on this project. Wouldn't we?" I turned to Christopher, now noticing his shaky stature. He rubbed his hand through his hair, pushing back the dark brown strands away from his face.

"Well, quite honestly, I still don't-"

"We'll be taking the project Mr.Castillo. Thank you for the opportunity." Cutting off Chris's sentence, I stood up, slightly leaning over the desk and shaking Castillo's hand. Chris looked up at me, both annoyed and confused, but I didn't care. Realizing that he has yet to do the same as me, I grabbed his hand, yanking him up out the chair. He rolled his eyes when he looked down at me.

"Just make sure you two do a successful job on the project. The house you're designing is for my daughter and her new family." We both nodded as we motioned towards the door and exited his office. As I was walking back to my desk, my arm was pulled back by Chris. He began to drag me to an empty meeting room, far from the rest of our co-workers. He closed the door, then began to lean in front of it. His stature gave me a full view of him. He was handsome, I couldn't lie about that fact. His dark brown hair complimented his hazel eyes. The sleeves of his white button up shirt were rolled up, revealing his muscles. I bit my lip slightly as I was taking in his attractive physique.

"Alex, why would you accept that project? You know we don't get along." My enjoyment of looking at him stopped when he spoke. Looking into his eyes, I folded my arms.

"First of all, we will be getting paid a whole lot of money. Oh! Not to mention, the possibility of either of us being promoted." He rubbed his hand over his face.

"But I don't want the promotion Alexandra."

"But I do Christopher." His selfishness was making me annoyed. He let out a sigh and stood up straight. Making his way towards me, I slowly walked backwards. As my legs hit the back of the table behind me, Chris trapped me with his arms on both sides of me. He lowered himself to my level, creating intense eye contact. He looked me up and down, licking his lips. I gulped hard.

"Since you want this promotion so bad, we need to make some things clear."

So, how was the first chapter? Do you like the main characters so far? I haven't written in 4 years, but it feels good to be back.
