“Of course I read Evans,” James said “I only read your name though.” He said winking.

“Ugh you’re such an arrogant toe rag.” She said and went away, she was with her friends Alice Chapman, and a girl who was a stranger to all four Marauders, she had Jet Black hair that reached her waist, and dark eyes, she was quiet and just watched James and Lily argue, she seemed very kind. Sirius who was usually James’ back up in moments like this, was completely distracted by her, he didn’t even bother to laugh at James being rejected again. He felt something different about this girl, a feeling he never felt with any other girl, even with his previous girlfriends who he just played.

“Too bad, not your day to day Prongs.” Said Peter

“When will he ever get his day?” said Remus

“Shut up Moony, I know I’ll get my day, right Padfoot?” he turned to Sirius who was still staring at the girl’s back “Padfoot?”

“Huh? Er, yeah.”

“You weren’t even listening.” James crossed his arms

“I was.” Sirius defended

“Oh really what did he say?” said Remus

“Something about getting his day with Evans.” Said Sirius

“Hmm, very good so you were listening.” Said James

“Don’t I always?”

“So who were you staring at?” asked Remus as they walked

“What me? Staring? At someone? Your eyesight’s getting bad Moony, with all that reading.” Sirius defended

“Yeah I saw you.”

“Yep I saw you too mate.” Said James

“Me too.” Said Peter

“What’s bad at staring? I stare at every hot girl at Hogwarts and you guys don’t care, I was just staring at another part of my collection.” Sirius beamed

“Oh really? Your collection now?” James laughed

“Yep” Sirius said putting his hands behind his head

“Since when did you start collecting?” asked Peter

“Third Year” Sirius said casually, as if it were normal

“Wow, breaking hearts since 1973.” James laughed

“Have you ever had a serious girlfriend Sirius?” asked Peter, they chuckled at him.

“Hmm, well let’s see, how serious? How long?” asked Sirius

“Yeah.”

“Hmm, 1mo-“he said putting one finger in the air “no, it was 2 no,-“ His three friends laughed, at him.

“Wait! I remember now, 3 weeks.”

“Three weeks? Is that even a relationship?” said James

“It was I think.” Said Sirius

“When will you ever get a decent girl that you could last with?” James said shaking his head.

“I dunno, haven’t found the one yet.”

Remus stopped reading his book,

“I think you have found the girl Padfoot.” Said Remus

“Really?” asked Peter “How’d you know Moony?”

“Yeah Moony, how’d you know? Do you read minds?” said James

“No, I do not read minds, but yes I think Padfoot, has already found the one he could last with, longer than his record of three weeks.”

“That must be one heck of a girl, to actually last with Sirius.” Said James

“Yeah, she must be a saint.” Said Peter

“Hello, I’m still here,” said Sirius “And how do you know Moony? I myself don’t even know who you’re talking about.”

“I’m talking about that girl with Evans you were staring at earlier.” Said Remus, as they stopped in front of The Leaky Cauldron, they entered and sat at a table.

“Her? I don’t even know her Moony,” Sirius said sitting down “That’s the first time I ever saw her, she’s a complete stranger and I was just staring at her.”

“She could be our classmate you know, a transferee student.” Said James sitting beside Sirius

“Yeah but still, how can you know Moony?”

“The way you stared at her, the way you looked at her, it was different, it wasn’t like your other flirting player stares, I’ve never seen you stare like that, you were actually staring without trying to flirt you were just staring, like ‘in love staring.” Said Remus

“Hmm, could she be the one to tie down our Padfoot?” said James joking.

“We’ll see, we go back to school in just a couple of days anyway.” Said Peter

“Guys, really? I was just staring, it’s just another of my ‘Sirius Black Player Stares’ and I’m just looking around, like Prongs said Heartbreaker since 1973, do you actually believe that ‘the one’ would just be easily found like that?”

“Let’s just wait and see.” Said Remus, in a knowing tone, he knew that this girl would be a big part of their, well actually Sirius’ year, Sirius himself knew inside of him that maybe Remus was right.

“Maybe Remus is right, never mind how could he know. She just looks simple, I've dated a lot of girls better looking than her. But I have to admit there's something special about her....” Sirius thought to himself.
