She wasn't strong enough, Ada hopped up and walked towards the door, surprised by who stood on the other side. "Took you long enough, soul sucker" Damon.

"What the fuck do you want?" Ada sneered, staying far away from the door

He sighed and shook his head "We need your help" if Ada had a dime for every time someone said that sentence, she'd be rich

"Are you guys mentally deficient? Seriously, I have said over and over, I will never help you again, yet, you can't seem to get it through your thick skulls " Ada's anger grew rapidly, consuming her

"Hey, hey calm down their little Forbes, Ric told me you were feisty but-" Slowly, Damon pushed through the screen door, stepping inside the house. Ada looked around the room, desperate to find something to protect herself with. An old wooden chair sat in the corner, quite close to Ada, swiftly, she broke the chair, picking up one of the chair legs as a stake "I swear to god Damon, if you don't get out of this house right now I will kill you"

Damon held out his hands in surrender as he back up, exiting the house he had just entered "paranoid much?" he let out a strained laugh

"You don't even know the horrible week I'm having Damon, I really don't feel being used right now"

"We aren't using you, Ada-"

"Oh go fuck yourself!" Ada shouted, slowly moving towards that door, the stake still held tightly in her hand "I know what you all think of me, so save your lies and other bullshit for someone else, because contrary to what you think, I have enough self-worth to know when I'm being used." Ada was close enough to the door, she grabbed the side and slammed it in his face, locking it, then turning off the lights in the house, to really send a fucking message

Ada dropped the stake and walked away from the door "You know Ric would talk about you all the time" Damon said, slightly muffled from the outside. Ada wanted to walk away, but a bigger part of her missed her friend, missed Ric. "You were sort of a daughter figure in his life, he constantly talked about how worried he was, for your safety or whatever, I honestly stopped paying attention" Typical

"And, look kid, I get it, they hate me too. But Alaric is going after Klaus, and if Klaus dies so does Blondie and Blondie's boyfriend. So just do this to protect your sister, not to help us. And I promise that'll be the last time we ask for your help"

Damon huffed when no answer came. He didn't know what to say to this girl, he barely knew her, and honestly didn't like her very much, which is exactly what she thought about him. But Damon was no fool, he knew she would make a powerful ally, there was too much weight on Bonnie's back, they needed another witch. So Damon would put his grievances aside, to protect the people he cared about, to protect Stefan and Elena.

Suddenly, the door swung open "Let's get this over with"

The shouting started the minute their father stepped through the doorway.

"WHO THE HELL ARE ALL THESE MEN ON YOUR PHONE, BILL? WHY DON'T YOU COME HOME AT NIGHT?" Liz sobbed and screamed at her husband

"WHY ARE YOU GOING THROUGH MY PHONE? YOUR SO CONTROLLING" Bill would scream back, and it would go on like that, for hours

Ada and Caroline sat on the couch, rewatching sixteen candles, but no matter how loud they turned the TV, it could never seem to drown out their parents.

One night Ada saw that it was particularly bothering Caroline "hey, do you wanna go down to the river?" Ada suggested as they sat on the couch
