Walking down the stretched hallway,
knocking on his door.

My heart palpitating through my chest,
satisfied when met with his sweet smile opening the door.

Before I can say anything he pulls me in by the waist, connecting our lips.
Feeling the grin grow across my face through the kiss.

We both pull away for air.

" Mm, been waiting for that all day" He chirps.

" How was your day?" I follow him through the door over to the kitchen where he slides me a warm mug of tea.

" Just usual case work, you know" He shrugs.

Nodding before clearing my throat.

" Thanks for the tea. Hey um, so did you tell JJ about...".

He shakes his head, " I told her you moved in here, since she asked, I'd never tell what goes on".

I just nod, taking a sip from the mug.
Should I ask him about who Maeve is?
Or is that wrong since.. we aren't even like dating.

But i'm so curious.

" Where are we driving to?".

He smiles, " That's for me to know, and you to find out".

" Oh we're playing this game are we?" I chuckle.

He nods, " Shall we go then?".

Following him in response, out the door.
Before walking in silence to his car.

Hooking my phone up to his bluetooth, pressing play on my chill playlist.
Letting Texas Sun play softly in the background.

" Did you have a good day?" Spencer asks, keeping his eyes on the road this time.

" Yeah, it was good. I saw JJ for a bit, and Jack was over the moon about a new drawing pad I bought him!".

" That's sweet, you really care for him huh?".

I nod in response, the ding from my phone vibrates in my back pocket.

Sliding it out,

ethan- can we talk. please. i'm so sorry!

Taking a deep breath in,
Spencer looks my way.

" Everything okay?".

Sliding my phone back into my pocket.

" Yup, just Ethan being a random".

Watching as his knuckles turn red from how hard he's tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
His jaw clenched while he intensely stares at the road.

" What's he saying?" He asks.

" Just that he's sorry, and wants to talk. I obviously wouldn't though".

He grows silent, the music now the only sound.
Another minute passes, the silence only growing.

Clearing my throat, " So where are we going?".

" Just up here" He says.

Turning down a gravel road.
Oh god.
Where the fuck are we?
I haven't been paying attention this whole time.
