Within a few days, Sniper was out of the infirmary. True to his word, he knocked on Pauline's door and offered to take her for a walk around the base.
As they walked, Pauline slipped her hand into his thinking he didn't notice. But he did, and pink started to dust his cheeks. "So..through all this chaos I still haven't gotten your name. Mind telling me?"
"Theodore, or Ted."
"Ooh..charming name...Wow! What's that?" she said, astounded.
"Oh, that's the Captain's office.."
Bingo.
"..Speaking of that, I should take you there to authorize your stay on-premises."
"Oh, sure thing sweetheart. I wouldn't want your leader mad at me, now would I? That would mean I got to see you less."
That little remark hit its mark.
"W-well..I...Let's just go get you authorized," he said, a flustered mess as he pulled Pauline along.
"Tch. Whatever you say, darling."
