Kehlani: she leaves me for months without even calling or texting me and then just shows back up in my life trying to act like a mom, as if she knows what's best for me. then she acts rude with you guys the second she sees you? like no, that's unacceptable
Josiah: baby it's fine, I honestly didn't care, I doubt quinn cared either
Kehlani: yeah but she's just fucking rude, I hate her

I hugged her and she laid up against my chest as I gave her a kiss on her head

Josiah: forget about her, we can stay at my parents' house until your mom leaves yours
Kehlani: I don't wanna intrude on your parents like that..
Josiah: bruh they love you, shut up

she let out a small chuckle and looked up at me

Kehlani: whatever, today is gonna be a fun day, my mom isn't gonna ruin that for us
Josiah: fuck the hag- wait.. no sorry I didn't mean to-

she laughed

Kehlani: fuck the hag

I laughed at her, it's always funny hearing her cuss since she doesn't really do it often.

Kehlani: come on, let's go

she grabbed my hand and led me over to my car. we got in and drove over to Quinn's house.

Josiah: quinny!! quinny-pooh!

I yelled from the front door

Quinn: i'm in the bathroom! go use the one upstairs!
Josiah: alright! umm you can wait in the living room while I take a shower
Kehlani: what if her parents come home?! I cant be sitting here alone!
Josiah: her parents know you!
Kehlani: it's still weird!
Josiah: I'll be quick! plus quinn is gonna come out any second now

she sighed

Kehlani: fine fine, but hurry up

I grabbed the pair of clothes that I had gotten from my house and ran to the upstairs bathroom. when I came back downstairs I found kehlani and quinn painting rainbows on each other's faces while talking.

Kehlani: hey! come here

I walked over and sat on the floor as she gently grabbed my face and painted my cheeks. she was a few inches away from my face and she looked so concentrated, I just couldn't take my eyes off of her. she noticed I was looking at her and smiled

Kehlani: what is it
Josiah: nothing

she chuckled and continued to paint my face

Quinn: can I invite Bryson? I don't feel like third wheeling
Kehlani: yeah of course.. as long as you behave yourselves
Quinn: IT WAS ONE TIME

we both laughed at her and after a few minutes quinn was painting Bryson's face

Bryson: i'm surprised my dad let me come, you told me so last minute
Quinn: I didn't realize i'd be third wheeling till right now

bryson chuckled

Bryson: should we all go in one car? it'll be easier to find parking like that
Josiah: smart man, congrats quinn!

she laughed as she put the paints away

Kehlani: let's get going, it'll be harder to find parking later

we all got up and quinn handed us some water bottles. we ended up going in quinn's car since mine was only a two seater. there were so many people there, it was unbelievable that we actually found parking. we got out of the car and walked over to the crowd. there was music, food, dancing, it was just pure happiness. everyone there was so nice and upbeat, you could literally step on someone's shoe and THEY would apologize you YOU for putting their foot in your way. though i did find that many girls were hitting on kehlani

quinn: you guys wanna go get something to eat?
Josiah: yes, your dumbass didn't let me eat in the morning

we walked over to a few stands and then went to go sit down on the grass under a tree

Kehlani: all these street dancers are so talented!
Bryson: yeah I saw one of them balance their entire body on one hand
Josiah: where's quinn?
Bryson: I think she went to go-
Quinn: I got a flag for youuu!

she ran towards me with a bisexual flag and handed it to me. I laughed and threw myself at her, tackling her on the grass hugging her.

Josiah: you're gonna help me hang this up on my wall
Quinn: well of course!
Kehlani: let's take a group photo!

we got up and asked this group of strangers to take a photo of us. they agreed to and we went over to pose. we held up the flag and smiled. we took a photo for the other group as well and they were on their way

Josiah: no way
Kehlani: what
Josiah: are those... stinky haters over there I see?

⚠️⚠️⚠️
we looked over to see a group of people standing on the opposite side of the street, holding up signs that basically just said that we would burn in hell if we weren't straight. people didn't care though, they held up their flags and mocked the protesters by taking selfies with them.

???: don't tell me a hero's kid is a little faggot!
???: your parents must be disappointed! fucking homo!
???: is this the type of hero we want?!

the crowd of haters all boo'd me and threw stuff at me.

???: you'll rot in hell with the rest of these disgusting people!
???: get the hell out of here!
???: kill yourself! battyboy!

kehlani covered my ears while bryson's and quinn threw the things they were throwing at me back at them and yelled things back.

Kehlani: don't listen to them, baby
Josiah: ...
Kehlani: they're stupid and don't know what they're talking about, they're just here cause they have nothing better to do
Josiah: ..I don't want my parents to get backlash for this..
Kehlani: they won't, and even if they do they won't care, you know that

I heard quinns voice getting louder

Quinn: i'll shove that damn sign up your ass, bitch! get the fuck out of my face!
Bryson: you guys are so fucking childish for this shit! leave us be!
???: prove to me that homosexuality is fine!
Quinn: aint shit I gotta prove!
???: we stand for heterosexuality! it's the only right way to live!
Quinn: you don't stand for shit boy, you're broke, go do something productive with your damn life!
???: how are you okay with your friend being a fag?!
Bryson: say that shit one more time, dirty bastard, I fucking dare you!
⚠️⚠️⚠️

the security finally came into play and separated the crowed from getting too close to each other. quinn and bryson stomped back over to where kehlani and I were

Quinn: are you okay?
Josiah: yeah i'm fine..
Bryson: bro don't listen to them, they've grown with a childish mentality, people like that are lost causes
Kehlani: come on, the parade is about to start, I heard they have some big ass floats

they helped me up and we walked over to the gates. my mood was low key ruined after that but I knew they were trying their best to take my mind off of the situation, that alone was enough to get me back up again. people were doing flips on the street in front of the floats, they had balloons and someone even spray painted their beard rainbow themed. there was this old gay couple next to us and it was the absolute cutest thing ever.
