They reached the shore, and Ted pulled Eden up. They stepped out of the boat together, and stood waiting for instruction from Hagrid.

Ted started kicking her feet lightly. She gave him a death glare that could kill, but he continued.

So then she kicked him in the shin.

Hard.

"Bollocks christ!" he exclaimed loudly. "You pack quite a punch!"

"It was a kick" she said, as he hopped around on one leg with a pained expression etched across his face.

"It was an expression," he shot back, still clutching his leg.

"You're being a baby," she laughed.

"I'm being a baby? We'll see who's crying once I get to you!" he said with a smile, hopping on one leg to chase her.

He couldn't make it far on one leg, so she simply walked backwards, mocking him for how slow he was going.

Suddenly he stopped hopping, and she stopped laughing.

Hagrid's voice boomed over the students.

"Come on folks, let's get inside," he yelled.

The first years ran after him, bonking into each other as they tried to keep up.

Ted and Eden trailed behind, not wanting to run.

"Are you nervous?" he asked.

Eden kicked the rocks that littered the ground, taking a minute to respond.

"Yeah," she said truthfully. "My brother has seemed to have an amazing time here, and I'm just afraid I won't get the same experience."

Ted bonked his shoulder into hers lightly, trying to reassure her.

"I'm sure you're going to have a great time," he said.

Eden shrugged, and asked, "How about you? Are you nervous?"

"Definetely," he breathed out. "I'm nervous for the sorting."

Right! The sorting! Eden thought.

"I completely forgot about that!" she laughed. "There's four houses, right?"

Ted nodded.

"Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. They all seem to have good qualities," Ted shrugged. "Do you have any you prefer?"

"Not really. I mean, my brothers in Gryffindor, so it would be nice to be with him. But anything is fine," Eden replied.

Although she wasn't being truthful.

She didn't want Slytherin.

Not because it was a bad house. It actually seemed really great, and had amazing qualities. But James talked down about it, and she knew he would get mad if she was sorted there. Her parents were both Gryffindors as well, so who knew how they would take it.

"I'm sort of hoping for Ravenclaw," Ted said. "It seems like a good house."

"Yeah, Ravenclaw would be good. They're supposedly really smart, but also caring and ambitious. Hufflepuff wouldn't be bad either, with their loyal and headstrong characteristics," Eden rambled.

She stopped herself, worried that she had said too much.

Sometimes her brain would sort of explode in a way, and she would go on long rambles. They were always a surprise to her family, who were so used to her barely speaking.
