Caleb
My name is Caleb, master of adventure and not afraid of anything! My friend Sarah, however, is quite the contrary... she's scared of almost anything you can be scared of: clowns, monsters, the dark, spiders, the list goes on! But hey, what can I say, opposites attract right? Did I just say that? Anyways, enough with introductions, let's get into the story.
One day, on the 31st of October( That's Halloween for those of you who don't know) I invited Sarah to go trick-or-treating with me- even though we all know what her answer was.
"Of course not! Caleb, I thought you knew me better!" she replied jokingly through the phone ,"you know I'm scared of almost anything. And on a day like this? I'm even scared of the little boys dressed as pumpkins cause I think my allergies will act up around them!"
"Well, it was worth a shot." I said.
"Yeah, a long shot." she replied.
"Haha, very funny" I said sarcastically. I knew I had to play my only trump card if I were to get her to come along, "Sigh, if you won't come, then who am I to trade all my candy with?"
"Oh you sly devil" she said, "fine, I'll come with you." Hook, line, and sinker. "But I'm not dressing up!"
10 minutes later (Trick or Treating)
All was going well, which basically means Sarah didn't have a nervous break down yet. Then, we passed by a house, it was like, a spooky old mansion. Of course I had to investigate "Hey, I haven't seen that house before, was it recently built?" I said.
"I'm pretty sure there was a run down mansion there before." replied Sarah, looking at the house like it was some illusion, then something weird happened, her eyes faded to a dull hazel. "Hey let's go investigate." she said, monochrome. She didn't wait for me to answer and started towards to the house.
"Sarah, wait up!" I called. "At least I didn't have to drag her in." I muttered as I started to follow her. We stopped at the door, at least twice the size of myself, and Sarah snapped out of her weird trance.
"What just happened?" she asked, shaking her head. Before I could answer, a voice came out of nowhere, faint but audible "That's just the beginning " whispered the voice. "Did you hear that?!" said Sarah, she started to look around for the source of the voice.
"I think it came from inside the house." I said, I put my ear to the door, hoping to hear more. Sarah put her ear to the door as well. Silence. Then, as if the door couldn't hold our weight, it gave in and opened. "Ah!" We both yelled as we rolled into the house. Once we were in, the doors slammed shut.
"No no no no no." Sarah said as she ran towards the door. As she tried opening the door in every way possible, she said
"The doors are locked!"
"Take a chill pill Sarah" I said to calm her down, "it's just a house, what harm can it do?"
THIS PART OF THE STORY (and the rest) IS GOING TO BE IN THIRD PERSON
Right after Caleb said that, he made a motion as if he fell over something, then disappeared. "Caleb?" Sarah called, "Caleb?!" Sarah called again, louder.
"Sarah?" called Caleb groggily, then, his head popped out of nowhere and looked around.
"C-Caleb?" Sarah looked at Caleb's floating head, "where's your body?"
Caleb looked down, then back up with a confused expression "What do you mean? It's right here" said Caleb and stood up, showing the rest of his body. "It seems that all the furniture in this house is invisible." said Caleb as he jumped over an invisible obstacle,"For instance, this..." he stuck out his hands, trying to feel the object before him, "...couch!" As he pointed to nothing. Sarah came over and felt around the invisible couch. She looked up, and wrapped her hand around her chin.
"Interesting." she said, if there's one thing that Sarah loves besides candy, it'd be mysteries. "But why, and how, is it invisible?" she asked.
"I have no idea" said Caleb, as he walked out of what seemed to be the main entrance of the mansion. Sarah started to walk around too, looking for clues why the furniture in the house would be invisible.
Then a "click" went off under Sarah, and the floor opened under her.
