🦋12. You can't make me go🦋

Start from the beginning

"I'm fine, let's just get this over with." Damon came down the stairs and he looked absolutely hurt. He never knew how I felt because I never told him. I never talk about my feelings to either of brothers, it's better this way, but right now I don't even wanna be in the same room as him. Please god, let this be over quick.

Damon, Andie, Elijah, Jenna, John, Alaric, and I all sit around the table. Elijah on my Right, Jenna on my left, Alaric and John in front of me and Damon and Andie at the ends.

Jenna pours some wine for Damon. "I hate to break it to you, Damon, Annabella, but according to Elijah, your family is so not a founder of this town." She said.

"Hmm, do tell." We said simultaneously.

"Well, as I mentioned to Jenna and Annabella earlier, a faction of settlers migrated from Salem after the witch trials in the 1690s. Over the next hundred years they developed this community where they could feel safe from persecution." Elijah explained.

"Hmm. Because they were witches." Jenna said squeezing my arm causing me to smile a little.

"Yeah, but there's no tangible proof there were witches in Salem." Andie said.

"Andie's a journalist. Big on facts." Damon said making a stupid face while looking at Elijah.

"Well, the lore says that there was this wave of anti-witch hysteria. It broke out in the neighboring settlement, so these witches were rounded up. They were tied to stakes in a field together and, uh, burned. Some say you could hear the screams from miles around us. They were consumed by the fire. Could you pass the..." Elijah asked and I passed him more wine while Alaric and Damon share a look.

"I wouldn't repeat this to the Historical Society." Jenna said As her and Andie laughed a little.

"It's starting to sound a little like a ghost story to me" John said.

"Why the bloody hell are you even here?" I mumbled and Jenna chuckles.

"Let's pretend that Bels isn't in bad mood." He then look at Elijah. "So, why do you want to know the location of these alleged massacres?" My brother asked.

"You know...a healthy historian's curiosity, of course." Elijah said, he placed his hand on my thigh and rubbed it a bit. I nearly melted at his touch.

"Of course." My brother said with that stupid look on his face, but then Elijah glanced at Damon and smiled nervously.

Hell yeah I caught that and so did my brother as we looked at each other and I moved Elijah's hand. "Would anyone care for some cognac? I have a bottle that I've been saving for ages." My brother says as he gets up from the table.

"None for me thanks. Nine bottles of wine is my limit." Ric said knowing what time it was. The others start to get up. I stayed where I was, I am not in the mood for any of this. Damon looks at Andie, guess this was her cue.

"The gentlemen should take their drinks in the study." she said, as I rolled my eyes, still staying glued to my seat.

"I have to say the food was almost as wonderful as the company, Come Annabella." He fixed his suit and reached for my hand.

"I like you." Andie said, which caused her a glare from me.

"You should like Damon More." I said and she just smiled and nodded.

Jenna hands some plates to John. "Here you are, gentlemen, make yourself useful. Hmm?" I laughed as John takes the plates and walks off. Alaric comes up behind Jenna.

"Here, here. Put me to work." He joked.

"Um, I got it." I laughed more As Jenna picks up the plates and starts to walk out of the room. Alaric stops her, I decided to finally take Elijah hand and walk out of the room. I should at least be with him before my brother take him away from me.
