Behind the Mask - Tobidei/Obidei

POV : OBITO

I sat quietly watching as Pain announced that Sasori had died and gave him a moment of silence out of respect.

My eyes landed on Sasori's partner and I guess friend, Deidara. He had a calm expression but his eyes said everything.

He was sad that he lost his friend but seemed to be doing well as anyone could be.

"Tobi...." My eye flicked over to Pain and gave a slight nod to show I was paying attention.

"He will replace Sasori and will be partnered with Deidara from now on...and even though we don't have much time I'll allow you a brief break before your next mission." Pain explained.

Deidara seemed to want to complain but from the looks of it he was too tired.

I nodded understandingly. "I'll make sure Deidara-senpai relaxes then Pain-sama ." I replied cheerfully in my fake high pitched voice.

Pain grunted in response and dismissed and Deidara let out a small hm.

When everyone left except for Deidara, I went up to him and he seemed to already be annoyed.

I let out a silent unnoticeable sigh. "Senpai we should go to the Hot Water Village. Tobi heard that there's a nice relaxing resort with lots of space so there's privacy."

Deidara's eyes widened and he seemed to give a small smile. "That sounds nice- er I mean...hm! Fine let's leave soon though."

I nodded in agreement and let him gather his things while I went to sit at the entrance to wait.

So far it's been a week since Sasori died.....Hopefully we don't run into those ninjas from the Leaf.

Though they just came back from a very dangerous mission so hopefully the Hokage will keep them back in the village to let them "recuperate".

I let out a loud sigh not realizing Deidara was there. "Oi Tobi." I looked up. "Ah you're ready Senpai."

"Hm.." Deidara undid the seal and I noticed it was afternoon already. We stood in the forest with the sun softly shinning through the tree leaves. Such nice weather too bad we'll have to waste it traveling.

Deidara started walking towards the land of Hot Water. He was the same as always quiet when Sasori wasn't around. I did him a favor and kept quiet too. Though it was fun to get on his nerves sometimes.

After a few hours Deidara stopped at a curry shop saying he was hungry. "Yay Curry is one of Tobi's favorites!"

We sat down and a nice old lady came to get our orders. After she left I almost took my mask off but noticed that Deidara was keeping an eye on me. Subconsciously I smiled and pulled my mask to one side covering my scars and eyes leaving my mouth uncovered.

Since we were in a booth, Deidara across from me so only he could see my mouth. I studied his face through the black cloth that covered my eyes. I unconsciously smirked which caught him off guard making him jump and look away blushing.

The lady came back with our bowls of curry noticed Deidara's small blush and my mask moved she made an assumption. "Oh my what a cute couple you two are! Just make sure you save all the intimate things for the bedroom!" Deidara choked and tried to explain to her that we weren't a couple. I kept quiet though relaxing my face and looked at the curry.

When the old lady left Deidara continued grumbling and started eating his curry. I looked up at Deidara and smiled to myself and began to eat my curry.
