Kardak visited Bel's monastery for the first time when he was seven. His parents were murdered a few years after his birth by the Dragonborn bounty hunters. Kardak lived in the wild for a long time, he was lucky he survived that long. One day he met a stranger in white and gold robes that promised to help him. They ventured together for a few weeks and the young minotaur was patched as well as fed by the traveler. The stranger became more and more interested in Kardak day by day, especially in his horns. He examined them daily and wrote about them in his diary. As time went by, friendly stranger acted more and more suspicious. He tried to pull Kardak's horns, cute them off, and finally, he succeeded. With one swift slash of his sword, he chopped off one of the Kardak's horns. The scream filled nearby woods as Kardak cried in agony. The stranger took the horn, hid it in his bag, and left shortly after, leaving Kardak to die. The minotaur tried to find shelter and help as fast as he could. He ran around the woods and found a giant building. It was Bel's monastery, a sacred place when all of the worshippers of the great general of hell lived. They took Kardak under their wing and began to teach him their religion and train him in battle. Living in the order of Bel was challenging. Kardak had to pray for a few hours between meals. He was trained physically on the "unholy" days and was taught how to use various weapons and fight in many styles. By the age of 14, he was already experienced in all types of tools - shields, axes, swords, polearms. Obedience was in Kardak's blood, he couldn't question masters that raised him and let him live in their shelter. He was devoted to them and Bel. He was taught all of the oaths, "Strength above all" was the one he lived by. As he approached the age of 20 he became a Paladin. His ceremony was the hardest trial he ever experienced but he pulled through. He felt as his powers grew inside of him and he finally could call himself a Bel's warrior. He left his monastery shortly after. His new goal was to preach the word of his god and to punish those who oppose it. But if he wanted to fight beside Bel, he knew he had to do something more. He had to get revenge on the one person that hurt him the most. He started to look after the stranger that took his horn unlawfully. He learned in the monastery that it was one of the acolytes of truth, as they like to call themselves. Lizardfolk heretics that were pure cowards. He promised himself to not rest until the one who took his horn will be at his feet begging for mercy.
