A/N: Welcome to my first story! I update whenever I have the time, hope you enjoy!!

If there was one thing thing that Bakugou had learned from attending U.A. this entire time, it was to read the room.
And the atmosphere in this room, despite the forced crooked smiles and sweaty, shuffling fingers, was about to cave in on itself.
It had been raining, earlier. A small shower, really; enough for murky, ash-colored clouds to stretch over the city and cast an ominous and dark shadow. The streets looked bleak and lifeless with no one moving about on the streets. Was it, he wondered, because of the downpour?
Despite this, everyone around him in 1-A seemed to be as cheery as ever. It seems the deluge wasn't enough to dampen anyone's spirits in here..
or so he thought.
"What are you moping for?" Kirishima stood infront of him, waving one of his rugged hands. If Bakugou had enough energy, he would've smacked it to the side. Instead, he only turned his head away even further.
"Move it, dumbass." He huffed. Perhaps it was the rain that was lowering his spirits as well. As dark as it was outside, Kirishima still had a lot of nerve to waltz up and bother him.
"Come on," Kirishima pouted, "You're really going to sit here and frown the whole time like sensei didn't just give us an entire class period to ourselves?" Bakugou slouched, pressing his body up against the back of his chair. As if on cue, Kirishima took the opportunity to prop himself up on his desk.
"I'll kill you," the blonde grumbled, knowing his threats were no longer effective on the red gnat.
"Oh~, that's not very manly of you," Kirishima feigned injury, pressing his fist up against the center of his chest, "Don't you want to talk to any of your friends?" Bakugou lolled his head to the side.
To his left, several of his classmates were standing near the door, casually chatting amongst themselves. Next to them was Kaminari and Sero, frantically explaining something to Yaoyorozu, who looked as if she were going to drop in any moment. Infront and aslant to Kirishima's right was Midoriya's group of friends, including Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki and Asui, who had propped herself up on a desk as well. Ashido had casually joined in with their conversation, leisurely standing across from Uraraka. They all seemed to be getting along well as usual, except they all looked incredibly nervous.
"What's up with them?" Bakugou mumbled, more-so under his breath. Kirishima, as a result, didn't hear and continued to watch his classmates interact with one another.
"Kaminari and Sero are over there trying to convince Momo to make them 'couples earphones', so they can listen to their music, but still each have one earbud in each ear," Kirishima explained, "At first I thought she'd actually be down with it, but it looks like shes trying her hardest to let them down easy." he chuckled anxiously.
Ignoring him, Bakugou continued to scan the classroom. All of their eyes were locked on either the floor or the person next to them, as if they all had suspicion of eachother.
To him, everything felt odd. No one was addressing such a heavy elephant in the room. It annoyed him.
Then he casually bumped his hand up against Kirishima's arm. The redhead whipped around, mid-sentence and stared down at him, "What's up?"
"What's all these idiots' problems?" He spoke through his teeth, "Why do they all look like they're about to shit themselves?"
"What do you mean?" Kirishima cocked his head to the side naively, "Everyone looks fine to me."
"Don't play stupid," Bakugou leaned forward, glancing at Midoriya for a quick moment. To his surprise, the green haired boy's composure was just as normal and just as annoying. If anything, he looked to be the only one to be smiling in his whole group, "What's going on?"
"Maybe the rain is getting to you, man." Kirishima pressed his finger against the side of his head, next to his ear, "You got rainwater in your ears or something?"
"Don't talk down on me," Bakugou sneered, finally gathering the strength to shove the boy off the corner of his desk. Kirishima had luckily already been balancing himself on one foot on the ground, so it was an easy move for him, "They all look sick."
Kirishima pivoted to glance more closely at his friends. The harder he looked, the more he realized that Bakugou was telling the truth. Most of them had hidden their hands behind their backs, were shying away from being too close to anyone or were desperately averting their gazes with whomever they were talking to, "Oh... that's strange."
"No shit," Bakugou replied, locking his eyes Midoriya. Midoriya stood there for a moment, gazing directly at his group of friends with seemingly zero emotion. Then, as if something switched on in his mind, he flashed a friendly smile, and proceeded to speak. Bakugou, in turn, furrowed his eyebrows, continuing to bore holes into the boy's face.
Carefully, he leaned forward in his desk, listening to their conversation. It was minuscule gossip at first, talk about lunch and other chatter about buying useless commodities. Suddenly, Uraraka brought her hands infront of her, pressing each of her knuckles into one another, and circling one thumb around the other.
"Um," she spoke, "Did you guys hear about the U.A. traitor with the ghost quirk?" It was like she had just struck everyone physically at once. The entire group froze, gazing at her anxiously.
U.A. traitor? Ghost quirk?
Mina replied softly, rubbing the back of her neck. The ice had already been broken. Now they were swimming, "Yeah, I can't say I feel safe at U.A. anymore.."
Bakugou peered over at Midoriya. He was still keeping his composure, a kind smile plastered across his face, which was very unnatural, given the situation. To top it off, it was as if the boy had been frozen in time.
Then, in such a robotic manner, his eyes closed and he chirped, "Don't be scared! No one in 1-A has a ghost quirk, so we can trust eachother." Bakugou's frown deepened. It was almost like he was the only one who could see directly through his facade.
"You're right! At least we have eachother.." Mina sighed, relaxing her body. Bakugou could almost physically see the weights being lifted from her shoulders. The same occured for everyone in the group. However, Midoriya's ambiance changed. It looked as if he were delighted to see he had successfully diverted his friends from suspecting anyone any further.
Bakugou bit his tongue. He watched Midoriya from a far recieve similar praises of being able to keep a level head in such a horrifying crisis. He watched the group continually converse about how it could possibly be a student from another class, or even one of the teachers.
The irritation was causing Bakugou to grind this teeth together. He had lost track of how long he'd been staring Midoriya down until he snapped back to reality and noticed him gazing right back at him.
Midoriya was giving such a menacing stare, with his sly smile, it made the hairs on his arm tingle and stand. The two glared at one another for seemingly eternity before Midoriya sweetly spoke, "Something the matter...kacchan?"
