As I lay awake
The world around me sleeps
The birds no longer chirping
The wind lightly ruffles the leaves
But I can't seem to drift
My mind's racing
My eyes won't close
My thoughts won't calm
No matter how many poems I write
No matter how many songs I play
No matter how still I lay
It continues to be a sleepless night
