CHAPTER 20

"Look, he'll come around, all right? It's...
He's doing a JJ thing." John B said as we sat at a table at the wreck.

"You think he'll go home?" Kiara said handing me a drink

"Thank you" I softy say to her as I grab the drink.

"There's about a zero percent chance that JJ goes home" pope said

"You never know, he will do whatever make his dad proud" I say.

"You okay?" John B asked Sarah

"Yea, are you?"

"I'm in one piece and my sister is okay so, yea" he said with a soft smile

"Is she though? Look at her" Kiara said as they all turn their eyes at me looking at me for a few good seconds before pope broke the stare.

"Okay. It's too dangerous to pawn this thing off piecemeal. So our best bet is to go down there and get the rest of it. Bring it all up at once. Put it in... in a safe or a vault or something. I... I don't know. Just until we can find someone who won't rip us off.I can figure it out tonight, get it done, and we can be out there tomorrow morning" pope said.

"Okay let's do it" John B agreed

"Easy"

"What about that thing with my dad?" Sarah said

"Shit"

"What thing?" Pope asked annoyed

"I have to go fishing with Ward"

I stayed quiet not knowing in g what to say cause all I could think about was JJ. Are we together? Are we broken up?

"It's 400 million in gold!" Pope said gaining my attention

"Make something up!" Kiara said

"Look, I... I have to, okay?
He... he saved Winnie and I, all right?
If it weren't for Ward, We'd be in foster care.
So... I have to go. Plus, it'll be better to do it at night"

"He's right" I finally say

"F- fine, go fishing" pope suffered

"And at least JJ will probably have washed up by then"

"I'm outta here" I say as I get up and leave

"Where are you going?" They asked

"Just out" I say. I walked down the street not knowing where my legs were taking me. I finally made it down to the beach near the cheatue. I stood at the edge of the sand where the concrete ended and took a deep breath to calm myself down. I took my cloths off and grabbed my surf board and ran into the water.

"I only stuck around with you because I knew you were lonely, not because I loved you!"

Those words replayed inside my head digging into my heart.

"Fuck" I say as I felt myself starting to cry

"I'm n-not going to c-cry again" I stuttered as years waled in my eyes. I sat on my bored letting sob.

"Goddamn it!" I screamed. Luckily no one was on the beach so I had it to myself. I surfed until I couldn't see anymore. I paddled back to shore and dried off. I laid on my towel looking up at the stares thinking about the times I would teach JJ all about the planets and different types of stars. I get pulled out of my thoughts when my phone started to buzz

Hey where are you, pope and I just got to the cheatue. -Kiara

I picked my towel and my back pack up and started making my way back to the cheatue. As I walked up to the house I noticed that there was very colorful lights which made me smile a little bit but also made confused.
