Two weeks later..

Illumi has been distant since I met his parents. Could it be possible that they didn't like me? I really tried my best to behave as Illumi ordered me to. I sigh and turn to look at the door, I hope he isn't angry with me. Wait, why do I care anyway? I mean he is my boss per se and pleasing him is a priority but that's all he is. It's preposterous of me to continue dwelling over his new absence in my life. I suppose I just got used to being around him. Yeah. that's it. I won't lie, I do miss his presence. It's been almost two weeks since I last heard a peep from him.

Well besides that I also learned how to shapeshift my aura, or whatever. I tapped my brother on the shoulder with it once and he was bewildered, to say the least. It was so funny he thought it was a ghost or something. He was freaking out about it for a good 3 days. Chiyo and I laughed at him through it all. You can say it was payback to him for dropping me and making me hit my head. Next it's chiyos turn to pay her part. She's 10 but she must not get used to treating me in such ways.

"Sue," I feel Chiyo tug at my shirt and I turn to focus on her. "I don't understand this question" she brings a paper out and shows me the question.

Illumis pov

"Son, we will be hosting a dinner for some very important guests in about 3 months so be sure to be here." My mother tells me. I turn to her and nod.

"Can I ask why I'm required?" I ask her. My mom dryly chuckles and turns around to walk away.

"Honey, you're always required."

Okay. That wasn't a real answer but I think I have a guess. I turn to walk away and make my way to the kitchen to grab a jar of honey before I leave the mountain.

I dip a small spoon in the jar and lick the sweet gooey substance off. I suppose i should visit Arisu to teach her more about nen. She's improved a great deal, I'm sure she'll be acquiring her ability soon. Maybe I can guide her to pick one that helps us both on our jobs. Though, the category she falls into has a great influence on what her abilities will be.

I'll pay her a visit. I take another spoonful of the honey as I make my way to her apartment and I enter. I see the children sitting on a table staring at paper and I begin making my way towards Arisu.

Okay, I do miss Illumi, a lot. I'll admit it because I'm growing tired of trying to lie to myself. Maybe I should call him and ask him if I did something wrong. I can do better. There's always room for improvements after all. Ugh, I sound so pathetic right now. Well, then again he would tell me if I did something wrong. I remember on our first mission he forbid me from ever crying in front of him again. He told me I shouldn't show weakness towards my prey and I agreed.

"Did I do something wrong?!" I shouted at the sky and allowed myself to fall back onto the couch.

"Boo." The familiar monotone voice of illumi said beside me. I turned to look at him with a huge grin and I sat up. We'll just ignore the fact that he actually did scare me with that joke attempt, okay?

"You get frightened easily." He stated. I frown and look up at him.

"Uh to what do I owe the pleasure of having you here?" I ask him. Illumi blinks and stands against the door. I really want to ask him why he hasn't came for 2 weeks but that would be pushing my luck.
