The idea of soulmates has existed long before social media made it a big deal. It was a simple process: you touch your soulmate's hand and a string appears between your left ring fingers, glowing for a moment before disappearing and leaving a colored tattoo in place, kind of like a wedding ring. Seems simple right? It really is. Trying to find your soulmate? That's where the challenge comes in. It could be anyone, anywhere, and you just never know.
As much as people tried to fight the idea of soulmates, it was always the person they came back to. Science was hard to argue with. Do you absolutely have to choose your soulmate? Well no, but why wouldn't you? Why would you not want to be with the one you are biologically compatible with? It wouldn't make sense. At least to most of the world.
