Hermione's POV

The Burrow
3:46 AM

The full moon shines bright in the star-stricken sky tonight, illuminating every nook and cranny it could reach. Cold wind gently caresses my face, undeniably penetrating the room from the open window situated above my bed.

I toss and turn, unable to fall asleep. It probably is around 3 or 4 am, but i'm not quite sure. I hear the sound of a bed creaking, and turn around to see Ginny getting more comfortable, snuggling under her covers. Evidently, I was currently residing at the Burrow, just like i had been for the past month or so.

Ginny's been kindly sharing her room with me, so we've had the chance to grow closer since the day i first arrived here this summer. She's more level-headed then she was a summer ago, more enjoyable to be around. Don't get me wrong, i never had anything against her, she was just always a bit too childish for me to hang around. Not that I would consider my younger self any better.

Alas, tomorrow would land on September first, signifying the faithful day students will have to wish farewell to their summer vacation and depart their families and homes to set off on the train transporting them to legendary Hogwarts, renowned magical school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Usually, I would be delighted to finally leave the muggle world and enter the wizarding one, since I'm not allowed to use magic outside of school yet. Although, I won't have to wait long since I'll be turning 17 on September 19th; but Voldemort's return is the one causing most of my troublesome thoughts; especially now that we've all lost someone dear to us, particularly my best friend Harry, after his godfather, Sirius, who was tragically murdered last year by no-other than Bellatrix LeStrange, one of Voldemort's most prideful, committed followers in the battle within the confines of the department of Mysteries located in the Ministry of Magic.

Harry was really attached to Sirius, or, 'Padfoot' as his nickname was, since he was his late father's bestfriend.

Although he never really saw his godfather a lot; given the man had to go into hiding as soon as he escaped Azkaban, he was still extremely devastated after his loss. But he's at least still got Remus, his dad's other bestfriend, and Dumbledore to look up to.

So, to say the least, everything is quite big of a mess right now, and everyone, including me, is absolutely terrified of what might be the outcome.

Finally managing to shut my thoughts down; i let today's exhaustion overtake my body, close my eyes, and wish for the best aftermath.
