Backstory: Her father had been a villain in Japan when he met her mother. They married in secret and had Melanie. She used to be a very happy and cheerful girl. Melanie had grown up knowing her mother's love, and having a father that came only once every blue moon to see her mother. When she was 6, enemies of Shin found his family. Aika tried to get Melanie away, but they found them and killed Aika. Melanie witnessed the death of her mother before using her quirk, accidently killing them. Shin had ran home once he found out what was happening, he saw the body of his wife, and the bodies of his enemies. He had noticed his unconsious daughter and took her to her uncle's home then disappeared. Melanie's uncle saw her as the reason for his twin sister's death. He constantly put her down and then turned her down onto his half sister Sana. Sana trained her in her quirk, along side her own sons, but due to Sana's own personality she was never able to give the girl the love and comfort that she needed. Once Sana died in a villain attack, Melanie was turned over to her grandmother. Airi tried to show the girl love, but it was to late. The damage was done. Airi, once finding out who was the cause, shuned her oldest son for his treatment of the girl.

Users must have water to use the quirk or There must be water in the environment in general. She tends to feel headaches if she uses it passed her limit, some even cause her to pass out
