i need to either fall in love with a good cook or take cooking lessons bc i just burnt hot chocolate

burning his cup of hot chocolate aside, calum's day has went by without a hitch. he surprisingly wasn't late to school, he didn't have any conflicts with his professors. there weren't any scoldings during work, and he was able to get home before his roommates did. so, all in all, not that bad of a day.

there's a grimace on calum's face as he's dumping the mug's contents in the sink; quickly rinsing his hands off. he'll wipe them off on his jeans before walking out to the doorway of the apartment, grabbing his backpack. the boy lets his fingers brush against the walls as he makes his way up the stairs. out of habit he's knocking on his room's door before entering, making sure no ones in there.

with having the habit of only studying the night before an exam, calum leaves his bag before the door. his sneakers squeak across the wooden floor, stopping right before his bed. crouching down he reaches under the frame, gripping his laptop ( a habit he still has from his experiences with siblings ). it's only a moment later that he's sitting against the wall on his bed, legs stretched out in front of him, with his laptop on his ( plot twist ) lap.

tumblr's still open when his computer wakes up. calum's never got it, but for some reason he's got quite the following on this website. having gained over nine hundred thousand with only making subpar gifsets, really bad jokes, and unfortunate selfies. it never made any sense to him, but it made him smile to see people actively interact with him.

there's already fifteen notes on his post about hot chocolate, and a small smile settles on the brunette's face. he'll hit the home button, and start to scroll down his dashboard. every moment or so there's a small little laugh falling from his lips or his smile grows even more when he sees a funny post. he's content for the next moment or so, nothing on his mind except for whatever the post's topic is.

and the smile falls from his face when he sees a post. he's not exactly a fan of other people being that upset. the boy sighs before thinking of a reply, quickly typing something out. he's sure it's not going to do much, but it may help just a small bit.

he only scrolls down his dash a little bit longer before his phone vibrates, hitting the 'top of page' button on his page quickly. the boy goes through his phone, texting back his roommate; telling him that he'd leave the door unlocked tonight. he glances back at his computer screen, hitting update.

and the first loaded post is one by the same user he replied to:

ofanxieties:
thank you.
#indirect / #you know who you are.

there's a smile on his face after he read it, hitting the like button. calum clicks the link to the other's blog, smiling at how nice and just / cute / the theme looked. he'll open up his ask box, sending a quick message before closing the laptop's lid. sliding it back under his bed, the boy stands up; walking back downstairs to make sure the door's unlocked.
