Harry didn't know the first thing about this world or what takes place. But there was one thing he was sure of. He was going to like it here.

Chapter 7

Harry ran to catch up with Dumbledore. He walked next to the man following him to what he assumed would be the bank. His steps fell in perfect sync with the old man as they strolled in silence. Harry, after a few minutes, looked up.

"So... a wizarding bank?" he asked curiously.

"Yes. They have just one. Its called Gringotts. Its run by goblins. Never mess with the creatures though. They are very protective of their treasures and do not forgive easily. Gringotts is the safest place in the world to keep anything. I have some business there myself as well." Dumbledore answered.

"Huh...protective goblins running a bank that keep items safer then guards guarding the most expensive items in the world... should have expected that." Harry replied nodding his head.

Dumbledore frowned and raised his eyebrows but otherwise said nothing. After a few minutes of walking they stopped in front of a large towering building. It was white in colour and much bigger then any of the other shops they passed. Walking up the stairs, they stopped at a bronze gate. Standing at either doors were two small creatures with pointed beards and long fingers and feet. They were holding spears and stood up straight.

Harry raised his eyebrows in surprise as an unasked question appeared in his eyes. He thought it would be rude to ask what type of creature they were. Not only that they worked with money. He'd have to be respectful no matter what.

"Harry these creatures are goblins." Dumbledore said indicating towards the two goblins standing at the door. Harry frowned as he looked up at Dumbledore. Wouldn't that be seen as disrespectful? I mean it was straight up rude. If any person was pointed out like that on the streets Dumbledore would be leaving with a broken nose.

Apparently the goblins felt the same way because their faces erupted into fierce scowls. Harry shook his head and shot them an apologetic look.

Something that surprised them so much they almost dropped their spears. Why was he apologizing to them? No wizard ever did. They regarded them with coldness and tolerance only for the sake of their possessions apart from a select few families. This child was certainly interesting. They'd have to keep their eye on him.

As they walked through the doors, the goblins bowed at them. They came face to face with the second doors with a short poem engraved on them.

Enter stranger, but take head

Of what awaits the sins of greed

For those who take but not earn

Must pay dearly in their turn

So if you seek beneath our floors

A treasure that was never yours

Thief you have been warned, beware

Of finding more treasures there

Another pair of goblins bowed at them through the silver doors. Harry was starting to think this was some sort of tradition they were disrespecting. He certainly didn't want to give the wrong impression in this new world so he shakily bowed back unsure of what to do. The goblins eyes widened and they lost all composure dropping their mouths wide open. Harry stood up quickly and just when he was about to start stuttering out apologies they goblins smiled at him. It looked scary to passers by but Harry understood the message and nodded at them before hurrying of to keep in page with Dumbledore's long strides.
