"I hate those things." Dad groaned next to us as he stretched out and mom unlocked the door.

"Can't say we disagree." Mom said with a yawn and opened the door. I rushed in looking forward to get into bed.

"That's odd." Mom said with the sound of the light switch being turned on and off. I felt my heart rate go up just a bit as I was blindly walked forward through the hallway.

"Emma get the candles." Dad said and I slowly felt my way along the wall. The sound of the door slamming shut caused me to jump slightly.

"Mom?" I called feeling panic raise in my body. "Mom?" I said once more hearing my voice quiver. I quickly took of my heels and stopped moving.

"Dad?" I asked in a whisper feeling tears prick at my eyes.

"Shh." A voice cooed from me behind me and before I could even turn around a hand fell over my mouth and in seconds I felt my brain shut down. Darkness clouded my vision and my body went limp falling into someone's arms.

I snuggled farther into the warm sheet feeling as though I was receiving a long awaited hug. I flipped over to my back and quickly snapped my eyes open. Throbbing pain emanated from my head as I slowly sat up in the bed...my bed. As soon as my feet grazed the cool wooden floor memories from last night surged through my mind. I looked around the room and quickly jumping to my feet, which was a horrible idea. It felt as though the room was spinning around uncontrollably and I grasped my bed post for support. As soon as my vision cleared I looked about the room expecting to see things haywire and in havoc but not a single thing was out of place. Mom, dad! I heard myself gasp as I quickly ran down the hallway and into their bedroom- empty.

"Mom?" I called. "Dad!" Nothing.

As I walked about the house less and less was making sense. Nothing was touched or out of place. I must have fell asleep once we came home. I looked down at my clothes realizing I didn't remember ever changing. I was in a pair of short shorts and a white loose tank top, with my bra still on. I felt my face contort with confusion as I walked throughout the house, no one was home. They probably went to work early, I told myself and calmly walked back to my remembering I had to call Ellie. I picked up my phone and turned it on instantly texting Ellie. Hey!- Emma. I snapped the phone shut and walked to the bathroom to take care of my hygiene needs.

I looked into the bathroom and a girl with brown shoulder blade length brown hair looked back. Her brown eyes looked as though the sun was always shining on them, I smiled at her and instantly felt better. Once I was finished I walked back into my room when as buzzing sensation occurred. One new message. I pressed open, "Who is this?" -Ellie. I scowled at her response and quickly replied. "Ellie stop acting stupid."- Emma. I shut the phone and slowly crawled my way into the kitchen and popped a bagel into the toaster. I walked towards the fridge and pulled out the cream cheese, as I closed the fridge door I felt my heart leap out of my chest. The bagel popped up and I slowly calmed myself down feeling ridicules about my fright. The phone once more vibrated and I opened the text message. "I'm sorry but you must have the wrong number."-Ellie. I let out a huff at her childness and dialed her number.

"Hello?" Ellie's voice rang through the phone.

"Ellie, how many times-"

"I'm sorry but who is this?" Ellie asked with confusion in her voice.

"Ellie it's me Emma." I said feeling my heart begin beating faster.

"I don't know no Emma's. You must have the wrong number and please stop texting me, have a nice day." With that the line went dead and I blinked back the tears that started forming.
