I can't help but scowl at the box taking up half the bench. It's mums new secret. She hasn't told me yet.

My eyes roam the vacant living room in awful temptation. Why not.

I hover my hand over the leering box, taking a moment to think about the consequences. Nothing I can't handle, nothing I haven't been through before.

With cautious fingers, and a raspy peel that fills the air, I slowly yank the tape separating me from 'the big secret'.

Too eager to contain myself, I swipe the flimsy flaps aside. My heart rate rises. The grin I was once wearing is now drooping. And that's when my mind catches up to everything.

I hear faint echos of a voice; maybe its my mothers.

Maybe she's here to make amends to the wrongs I've just done.

Maybe she can fix it all.
