Banked Rage: Explosion

Start from the beginning

A week passed just like this with Wei Wuxian locked up in his room for the whole day working on talismans and whatever he was working on, only allowing Sizhui to enter with a tray of food twice. Even Jingyi was blocked when he tried, his feet rooted at the threshold automatically the moment he tried to slide the door.
Sizhui had to console him afterwards when Jingyi cried in their dorm late at night thinking that Senior Wei hated him or was probably angry on him for something.

No one saw a hide of black in the whole Cloud Recesses during the daylight, even the nights were unusually silent.
Like the nature knew something was wrong and had decided to be quiet.
Until one day Sizhui burst in Wei Wuxian's room unceremoniously, all the Lan grace outside the window with a panicked look on his face.
Wei Wuxian was just staking his papers which had grown into a mess, after he solved one of his problems. He looked up, startled from his focus and nearly dropping everything.

" Sizh-" " Wei-" Sizhui cut him off, breaking a rule but his appearance told Wei Wuxian that the the boy cared less about the rules at the moment. Something was definitely wrong.
" Wei qianbe! You have to come with me, fast ! Hanguang-Jun-"

" Breath Sizhui! Slow down and tell me, what happened to Lan Zhan ? Is...is he awake ?" There was so much hope in that voice and oh, how Sizhui wished he had some good news to deliver.
He shook his head and then catching his breath said, " The elders. The healer found out what was wrong with Hanguang-Jun but they didn't tell me.
I only got to know that the elders are planning to put him in seclusion after knowing his ailment-"

" WHAT ?HOW DARE THEY !" Wei Wuxian thundered.

" Wei qianbe, you need to hurry! They said something about punishment..."
Wei Wuxian's eyes flashed and grabbing Chenqing and his talisman pouch, they both dashed out of the room ignoring the rule of no running.

Sizhui led Wei Wuxian to the main hall where usually clan elders decided on matters which couldn't be solved by the Sect Leader alone or discussed clan matters. The door was locked and Wei Wuxian knew that Zewu-Jun must be the one to inform Sizhui about this.

A locked door had never stopped him. Hell even Cloud Recesses' barrier couldn't stop him when he was a teenager, so this door was just begging to be opened.
With a talisman he burst the door open, startling the people inside. Inside, many old people could be seen sitting along with a few adults, most of whom stood up upon hearing the door burst open with their swords drawn.

A few who didn't included Lan Qiren and oh, Wei Wuxian had never had a reason to hate him more. The man had the audacity to frown disapprovingly at him while stroking his goatee like he was a wise counsellor of heaven whom Wei Wuxian ought to respect and follow blindly.

Fat chance of that old man, now you better hope I will still regard you an elder after this.

" What did you say about punishing Lan Zhan?" The cold voice echoed inside the room while candles flickered with the sudden change in course of air. For a moment no one spoke but then, an elder raised his voice to speak and Wei Wuxian took a drop of satisfaction about how his fingers shook slightly while he tried to appear unaffected.

" Who are you to ask us questions? A lowly demonic cultivator like you is not allowed here."
Wei Wuxian chuckled dryly.

" What's so funny that you are laughing? This is the main hall of a clan and if you have even a scrape of dignity in you, leave now and we might consider a light punishment for your insolence."

At this grey stormy eyes fixed themselves at the elder who spoke.
" You said punishment? " Wei Wuxian took a step towards the centre of the hall and stared down at the elders with a menacing gaze. His eyes hadn't changed colour yet but those old men already looked pale.
