It had been a week. My parents had been worried that day.

When I showed up back home- bruises covering my body. I was still confused by what happened.

My savior had been cold, yet, caring towards me.

He had carried me off towards safety and waited for me to regain consciousness.

He had given me a silver-book with weird writing written within it.

Strangely- enough I could read a section of it.

The book warmed at my touch, glowing with such radiance.

I had spoken the words and suddenly my savior had put the surrounding tress out of its roots and compressed it to the bare ground.

He had explained that he was apart of a battle. That he was something called a 'Mammodo', and the battle was to determine the king of their world.

It was a lot to take in.

I had asked, "why me?"

He answered, "Certain people are chosen to best suit the Mammodo. You are my partner, as such you have to get stronger. That book will help you. "

I didn't know what to say.

He had carried me back to my residence and the whole way was nothing but silence.

I didn't know if I could do it. But my savior thought I did.

I just wish I had that much confidence.
