I fell to the ground, my breathing became raggedy and I coughed out blood, spitting it onto the ground. It hurts, like a hot iron plate being pressed into my skin.

I never even got to see my sister's smile again. Not even see if Levin was truly alive, or if I'd ever get to have an happy life. What am I thinking? I would've never had a happy life, either way, I'm a ghoul. Ghouls can't have happy lives.

I fall on my back and let out a long breath, sounding more like a sputtering motor. The dove with the gun came up next to me, aiming down at my face and pressing the gun to my cheek, making a shiver go through my body from the cold muzzle.

I could smell the gunpowder in the weapon, this weapon that was made to kill. A copper smell with a tinge of tang... or was that the smell of my blood? Who knows.

The dove looked down at me with a disgusted look. "Go to hell, monster." He said, looking into my one ghoul eye.

Then... red widened under his shirt, his eyes became wide and he looked down at his stomach, which had four sharp kagune through him. He coughed out blood and was thrown aside, behind him stood the person I longed to see.

Levin stood, with his mask on, his kagune was activated, but it seemed different than before, it was larger, and seemed to have more red to it, making it almost a purple, but still had more blue.

"Hello." He said to the other doves, they all looked in shock at the sudden entrance of him. Another scream ripped out and behind them was another man, but holding a large quinque.

He had a large cloak on, and his face was covered by his hood and a bandanna. He took out one of the other doves. The other and last two, who were in the middle of them cowered and one was even crying.

Levin charged forward in a blink of an eye and slashed one in an upwards slash, instantly silencing his cries. The other tried to hit Levin, but his other talon grabbed his weapon, flinging it into the air.

The dove looked at his empty hands in even more shock, then looked at Levin, into the one eye hole in his mask. Levin took a step forward, making the man screech and fall to the ground.

He started at the man, then put his kagune away, turning his back to him as he looked confused at the sudden mercy. Instead of focusing on the enemies, he walked over to me, and scooped me up into a princess hold.

I blush, but it's covered by my mask, thank god. He looks over my wounds and sticks his hand near my wound, I feel a quick pain, then he suddenly had two bullets in his hand. "Should I have told you I was going to do that?" He asked, a worried tone.

"N-No... it's fine." I basically whispered, my vocal cords and lungs felt squeezed and dried up of any life in them.

Levin looked at my wounds and took his mask off, his eyes squinting at them. "Your not healing." He said, coming to a conclusion in his mind.

He suddenly made his kagune come out, and slit his wrist, putting it up to my mouth. "Eat." He said simply.

I sniffed a cry of desperation as the smell lifted on my nose. The most beautiful smell I've ever smelled in my life. I slowly grabbed his wrist and bit into it, but unlike usual, Levin didn't flinch or anything, he just looked at me with a blank expression as he watched my wounds start to heal.

"Thank you... sorry." I whispered.

His face didn't change. "Its fine... now get into the truck, and don't use this drop point anymore for awhile." He said, setting me down into the trucks driving seat.

"A-Aren't you coming?" I asked slowly.

But even asking that, I already knew he wasn't. His companion seemed to be waiting for him, leaning against a tree with his arms crossed. Levin gave him a slight nod and then turned back to me, and surprised me what he did next.

He pulled me into a hug.

It was very loose at first, but when my hands slowly wrapped around him, I squeezed him tighter, not wanting him to go. He whispered into my ear. "I'll be back. I need to repay a debt first." He whispered, then letting me go, he walked away, with his mask in his hand.

Him walking away from me, to the stranger, made me feel a tinge of loneliness... but over time it became not only a tinge, but a whole lot of pain in my chest.

I curl up once their gone, hugging my knees. "Jerk."

??? POV

I sit on the veranda, my information files out in the table in front of me. Their spread out, each holding a file on what's been happening and who's causing havoc.

I squint at the file named Crow.

I grab it and read.

After the attack on the auction, he has not been seen or heard of by any sources. He is not consisting of his friends in the Nest, and might be classified as MIA. But the CCG is confident that they had killed the dangerous ghoul, now rated S just for taking on so many doves at once and having a Kakuja. They left the body in the building so it would be buried when they took down the building, but the workers saw no bodies to be disposed of.

I placed down the file and squinted out into the city, my city.

"Where are you, little Crow?" I mumbled as I sipped my mug, and slowly decided to walk back inside.
