If I'm with you, I'm okay

"15th Eleanor." Jules jabbed a finger at me lightly, I rolled my eyes even though he could hardly see my face due to the broken lights above us before watching him turn on his heal and head out of sight.

As I headed back to the table Alex was standing up from his seat and pulling his jacket on, "Hey, sorry I took long, the door got suck.." I lied, Alex sent me a small smile and nodded as he left a note on the table.

"Shall we go?" He asked, offering his arm out to me to hold to which I obliged and looped my hand into, both of us strolling down the diner and sending the manager a short wave before heading out the door.

I can't describe nights, they're like a dream, sort of vivid, vaguely real and almost just your mind imagining things really. When you're with someone who makes you feel safe and protected the nights can be the most extravagant of experiences, it's when all the fun happens, the sneaking around, the constant 'shh'ing' eachother due to the fact you're laughing too loud and on the verge of waking up the entire city. It's like a film, but it's your reality; tonight was particularly like that, my hand looped in Alex's arm, his hand shoved into his leather jacket pocket, both of us walking along glued to one another's side as we pointed out little things around us that caught our eyes.

The stars sprinkled above us reflecting down onto the pathways like little fairy lights dangling above, just listening to Alex's voice and being with him had made me forget all about the events of the night, every problem had sort of faded, I knew they'd all creep back in soon but for just one moment, for one tiny tiny moment, I felt Okay. And that was because of him.

"My whole flat building hates us now." I giggled as I burst the front door open and stumbled inside, Alex chuckling loudly behind me, our laughter echoing throughout the building.

"Not our fault we're havin' a good time." Alex laughed, shutting the door behind him; I was in fits of laughter watching him hop about trying to pull his boot off to which he gave me a swift middle finger causing me to laugh even more.

"Here you go." I said quietly, handing Alex an oversized grey sweatshirt of mine, along with a glass of water.

"Thank you love." Alex said, heading off past me and into the bathroom. I sat down on the edge of my bed and plumped up the pillows and brushed my hand along the fresh sheets on my bed, I pulled back the cover ready for Alex then grabbed my water and headed into the lounge.

"The beds ready for you." I said as Alex poked his head into the living room, I got myself comfortable on the couch and pulled a blanket up over my legs.

"Errr..and what are you doin'?" Alex asked, prolonging his "err" as he spoke, he moved into the living room and placed his hands delicately on his hips, his eyes gazing down at me.

"Sleeping?" I questioned with a Short laugh following after.

"I'm not having you give up your bed for me, get up I'll have the sofa, come on." Alex moved over to me and pulled the blanket off my legs.

"Alex no, have the bed I'm fine!" I laughed and tugged the blanket back. Alex stood there with his eyebrows raised, I gestured him to leave with a grin playing on my lips, I've never once let a guest sleep on the sofa.

"Fine, but just know I'm treatin' yer to brekkie tomorrow because I feel god awful about this." Alex mumbled as he sauntered out the room.
