Before I knew it I'd sprung from my position and was sprinting towards him, he dropped the pen immediately, I leapt into his arms and let him hold me tight against his chest.

Giggles slipped from my lips as Alex spun me round again and again, his face smooshed into the crook of my neck as my hands gripped tight onto his shirt for reassurance that he was actually here.

"God I can't believe it, what are you doing here?" I panted as he put me down and kept his arms loose around my waist.

"I'm here to bail you out, I saw the newspapers and got the first plane here straight away.." He looked older now, in a good way, I couldn't describe how nostalgic this felt but I loved it.

"You're not seriously paying all that money right?" I backed away from his touch slowly, my brows knitting tight together.

"Eleanor this is nothing alright? I want to pay this, please let me get you out of here." His shirt hugged his shoulders perfectly, I cannot explain how perfect he looked in this moment.

"Okay.." I pressed my lips together to form a small smile and nodded slowly.

Alex quickly turned back to the detective and finished signing the paper, I stood close to him and watched his every move in awe, I couldn't believe he was here.

"Let's go." He snapped me out of my thoughts, we headed out of the station, the sunset melted over the sky above us, it was the perfect weather, I honestly felt beyond free at this point in time.

"Where to?" Alex asked, I glanced over at him before skipping down the steps with my lips tugging up into the biggest smile, I heard Alex's footsteps behind me mimicking my actions as I speed-walked along the pathways, weaving in and out of people leaving their workplace and heading home.

Before I could even think we were stood outside my favourite takeaway shop, Alex rummaged in his Jean pockets before pulling out his wallet and taking the lead.

The public must've thought we were right lards
Because we came out holding bag-fulls of takeaway, I was absolutely starved and was over the moon when Alex told me he was too, it was always nice to just binge with someone else after a stressful few days, or should I say a stressful few months.

"Nice place." Alex complimented as he slipped his Chelsea boots off and headed into the living room, his eyes tracing over every picture frame that hung on my walls and every fragment of decoration around the rooms.

"Thank you." I called as I flicked the kettle on in the kitchen, I couldn't hear any rustling of Alex cracking into the takeaway bags yet and that baffled me, the mans stomach was making some serious animal noises while we were walking home.

"Hey Al, you can get your food out now if you don't wanna wai-" I was stopped abruptly by Alex whom was stood in the kitchen doorway holding four empty containers of pills I'd bought from Jules. Unexplainable, I wanted the floor to actually open up and swallow me whole.

"I-I can explain.." I stammered, my fingertips releasing the two teabags I'd taken out of the tin. Alex shook his head slowly and sighed sadly, I watched as he placed them onto the counter and dropped his arm back to his side, sending me one more shameful look before sauntering off out of the kitchen.

"Alex." I called and chased after him, my hands running along the hallway walls before I met the living room doorway. Alex sat uncomfortably on the edge of the sofa, his hands holding a Foam polystyrene container filled with kebab and salad, his fingertips flicked the plastic fork back and forth in his food.
