His Saving Grace

Chapter 1

It's my first day at the BAU and I'm nervous yet excited I've heard such great things about this team and I just can't wait to meet them all. As I walk into the elevator and the doors start closing a scrawny yet cute man yells for me to hold the door. "thank you so much miss" he thanks me as soon as it closes I smile as my way of saying your welcome I turn towards the door as an awkward silence fills the room I suddenly feel him staring so I glance at him and we make eye contact and he clears his throat "I'm Spencer. Dr. Spencer Reid"  "Hi I'm Gracelynn. Gracelynn Gideon" his eyes went wide and I giggled "Y-Your Gideon's daughter" he stuttered out I smiled "uh yea he doesn't quite know I'm here I told your boss to keep it under wraps" he smiled which made me smile it's like his smile is contagious.....

"Spence! Spence!" I whisper yelled as we arrived at Tobias Hankel's location where JJ and Spencer got here first. I walk into the barn behind Morgan and Prentiss behind me as I look around I spot dead dogs and what looks to be a pile of human remains and blood I cover my mouth then jump around when JJ jumps out screaming FBI "JJ! JJ! it's us it's us." I shout so she doesn't shoot "Don't Move!" she yells "JJ it's Grace, Morgan, and Prentiss" I shouted, "it's ok, are you hurt" Morgan asked, "Hankels the unsub" she muttered "we know JJ" "Wheres Reid" I asked she ignored me I rolled my eyes and looked around seeing the dogs I cringed "I had to kill them" she whispered "JJ where is Reid" I said louder "They just tore her apart" she whispered "there's nothing even left- she continued "damn it JJ look at me Where is Reid" I asked once again "We split up. He said he was going around back" I ran out the back my heart racing "REID! where are you? Reid!" I yelled looking around "Come on Reid answer me" I yelled louder "Grace! Grace! he's not here" morgan grabbed my arm I felt tears well up in my eyes "fuck" I mumbled the house was clear and there was no sign of him I collapsed in a chair putting my face in my hands feeling sadness suddenly rush through me and walked outside to Morgan and Prentiss "Prentiss I think Reid followed him into the cornfield. It looks like somebody got dragged" I heard Morgan say as I walked up "you still can't find him" Morgan shook his head slightly I sighed "yeah, You sure? alright, we're on our way now" I heard someone speak "hey what is happening" I asked him "Sheriff two towns over gave directions to somebody fitting Hankles description. it's to a motor lodge in fort bend" "Let's get Hotch and Gideon" Morgan tapped my arm we ran to get them. 

The next morning Penelope and Hotch arrived. My dad had Penelope get set up and I and Morgan helped "OK right out of the gate the guy's self-taught." Penelope said turning to us "his mainframe is totally idiosyncratic but it's pretty brilliant." Penelope continued "talk to me about what this son of a bitch watches online. what the hell is all of this" morgan asked "It's tame stuff. video games, software, sports. Seriously, if I had to guess whose system this belongs to, I would say a crazy smart high-school kid." "Garcia that doesn't make any sense" "well that's what I've got. I don't know what to tell you." "A mission-based killer like Hankel would need constant reassurance religious manifesto, violent images something." I said "Nothing, lovely. nothing." "what about the mpegs of the murders he posted online?" I threw out there "does he sit and continuously watch those." I added "ok that's weird" "What talk to me" "they're not even here all I have is a site he set up once he commandeered peoples webcams, and he keeps a running clock, and at a certain point each one is bookmarked with a different heading" "Adulterer, liar, thief." "This guy sits here for days and just watches these people, and he waits for them to sin." I muttered "yeah but Reids completely innocent" "but if you dig deep enough on any of us, we all have our sins, including Reid" Morgan replied I walked out and went to a bathroom and locked the door then I sat on the counter and got lost in my head 

"Reid stop it" I giggled "Spence you better stop or-or ill eat your chicken" I yelled out laughing "Woah Woah you did not just go there," he said and finally stopped poking at my sides I laughed and pushed him on the couch and ran for the kitchen to grab his chicken he chased me and grabbed my hips picking me up and setting me on the counter I started laughing as he poked my sides again and as I threw my head back I hit the cupboard I yelped "owww my head" I groaned "oh my gosh Grace I'm so sorry" he gasped I giggled still rubbing my head "you're fine Spence" he smiled and kissed my forehead "you know I'm glad to have you as my best friend Gracie" I felt a pang in my chest when he called me his friend but I smiled "me to Spence, me too" 

I smiled at the memory and walked towards the kitchen when I heard Emily "Hey, Hey. JJ, it's me." I walked over to the bathroom I was in moments ago and saw JJ putting her gun down that she pointed at Emily "are you alright" Emily asked her ill admit I was pretty mad at JJ but nows, not the time to start problems "uh... yeah. Im- I'm sorry you scared me." "I'm sorry" Emily quietly said JJ looked at me and I looked away "I'm talking tomorrow morning to some guy who knew Hankel from narcotics anonymous. why don't you come with me, get out of the house?" JJ agreed as I went to walk away I passed hotch and then heard Morgan yell he's got something we made our way outside to see morgan uncovering a hatch door he opens it and yells for Tobias I smile slightly in hope of finding Spence......
