I've been working on this book for 6 1/2 months. I hope you all enjoy.
I want to say a huge thank you to my co-writer and writing directer and the person who pushed me to keep writing this god damn book. Let's all hear it up 'Aimee Murray' (Padfoot 🐩) for helping me through the journey of the making this book. The 6/7 hours of zoom calls we went on, every Friday. The loooong voice messages of me talking absolute nonsense. The random Tiktoks and meme photos of my books. You stuck with it though it all!! Siriusly ;) thank you. You are a true inspiration!!

PROLOGUE
Marlene spent her life, letting people of authority tell her who she was and what she could be. As a child you trust the older generation to take care of you and lead you into greatness. As a teenager you challenge authority. Marlene never challenged anyone. Spending her life as a passed around burden, living in limbo, was enough to take the fight right out of her. She didn't know who she was or what she loved, she was unsure of herself. But that's life, isn't it? That's being a teenager. Being so consumed in trying to be someone you're not, you never figure out who you are. She believed teenagers live in hell. some, were just lucky enough to make it out alive.
Watching people go through the pain of living was a movie she never liked to see. Growing up hurts, and adults never understand the emptiness of the hole you feel when alone. Stuck. Forgotten. Not enough. Adults say "Wait until you get older then life gets hard." But what they fail to realize is, the truth, that the majority of us are already dead..
