Brett decided to check in his luggage and get his tickets first.  Much easier to move around without the suitcase.  His trip was paid by his mother.  And that meant he got the cheapest flight possible.  And two stop overs to look forward to.  As he handed his passport and booking number to the the stewardess, she tried to engage in conversation.  "Going home? Were you here on holiday?"  "Yep. Nope."  He took the tickets and his passport and put it in his backpack. He had about three hours to wait, so he decided to get some coffee before going through the boarding gates.

The amount of people with the same idea amazed him.  When it was his turn, he handed the money to the cashier as he said "Americano.  Brett with two T's". The cashier was briefly taken aback by his abrupt interaction, but handed him his receipt with a smile and then greeted the next customer.

As Brett waited for his order he felt more and more uncomfortable.  So many people.  So much noise.  The flight would probably not be any better.  He was slightly irritated when the server announced his name with EXTRA emphasis on the T.  He took the cup to go and add sugar.  When he lifted the lid he could see it's the wrong order.  Seriously.  How difficult could it be? How many Brett's were in the queue? "This is not my order", he said, as he returned to the counter. "It was supposed to be black coffee".

A taller Asian guy walked over holding out a cup.  He was saying something but Brett's brain stopped working.  What the hell.  He swapped cups and mumbled "Thanks" as he turned around quickly to get to the condiment table.  "Dude, what the hell?" he thought to himself.  "You're not a teenager anymore".  He put the lid back on his coffee and went to find a seat somewhere far away from the coffee shop.
