Techno had taken the role of leading the group, Phil opting to walk beside Dream as they headed towards the nether portal. The terrain had changed drastically, for some reason even the trees looked different for Dream. Everything was different.
Phil patted his shoulder when he heard Dream sigh, Techno just looked back to make sure they were still alive. Dream had kept his mask tied to his hip, leaving it there to swing back and forth with every step. Techno did his best to keep his creeped out look from his face every time he saw Dream. Phil being a little nicer about just cringing a bit every time he saw it.
Dream just hunched into himself a bit more every time. He shouldn't have expected any different in all honesty.
The purple obsidian and the flicks of the portal came into view for Techno, readjusting his sword he turned back to motion for the other two to pick up the pace. Phil swatted at him, Dream was half-stumbling the whole way.
Dream hadn't been able to move around a lot in the prison and he had used up everything the day before escaping so excuse him for walking around like a newborn lamb.
"He's weak Techno, give him some time." Phil whispered over to Techno who still had his impatient look. Saying that Techno finally got a full view on Dream, mostly skin and bone, all his previous build gone.
Techno blinked, swooping up Dream in his arms he draped the other over his shoulder. Like a potato sack. Huffing out, Dream gave a fleeting glance to Phil, who felt like if he did have eyes they would be screaming help. Phil only shrugged and continued his walk next to Techno this time.
Dream wasn't able to be in the conversation as easily this time, he started squirming when the position started to get uncomfortable fast. On a very firm squirm Techno dropped him on the grass.
"The hell."
Phil and Techno were standing next to the portal that Dream didn't notice before. "Right." Standing up, Dream rubbed his back to try to soothe out the hit.
"I'll go first, you grandmas take your time, okay." Techno stepped into the portal first and disappeared just as fast. The whirl of the portal sounded up at the same time he went through.
Raising his brow Phil gave Dream a once over before deciding he was fine. "You go next alright."
Waving him off Dream took a more hesitant step to the purple portal. Swallowing down his nervesness he walked through. One thing Dream didn't miss was the quisiness that came with the portal. The disornitaing was also an added con.
Techno was a few steps away from the portal waiting for them with his arms crossed. He had put on his armor when they weren't there. The enchanted netherite glistened a soft purple.
Phil bumped into him when he came out from the portal, using each other to steady themselves. Dream and Techno waited for Phil to also put on his armour, the heat didn't bother him as much as he would have thought. Even Techno looked confused about it, who had thought Dream would be creating puddles of sweat.
The nether had also changed for Dream, new bridges littered around over the lava. If Dream looked close enough he could see the hub was missing it's window and some bricks from the structure. Over all the nether looked far worse from the last time he saw it.
"Ready?" The two of them looked over to Phil who was done. Once again Techno opted to lead the group towards the correct portal to the north. Dream was having a harder time remembering where everything was. He used to rely on muscle memory half the time in the Nether, his mask constricted his vision. The dim lighting in the nether just making it worse.
Dream kept his face on the floor where he was stepping, making sure to try and not to trip or step off the ledge.
"Shouldn't you, y'know?" He looked up to Techno who asked him. Dream was confused. When Techno more or less pointed to the mask it dawned unto Dream.
