Frostfur's Past

Outside Chapter. 2

Frostkit woke up next to her mother. She jumped up happily. It had been a few days since the visit from her father.

She climbed to the top of Nightwings head. "Mama? Can I go outside today? You said I could go when I felt better and Leafkit and Stonekit got to go out yesterday!" She mewed into her ears.

Nightwing opened her eyes and stretched putting Frostkit down in front of her.

"I suppose you can go out but stay with your brothers" she meowed licking her head.

Frostkit frowned. "Can't I just go alone?" She asked

"No. Stay with your brothers, they will show you around" she meowed and Frostkit knew there was no changing her mind.

She sighed and went over to her sleeping brothers. She poked Leafkit with a tiny claw.

"Wake up sleepyheads!" She meowed. They didn't move.

She rolled her eyes. "I said wake up!" She meowed louder and Leafkit opened his eyes.

"What do you want?" He asked glaring at her

"Mama said you and Stonekit have to show me around camp!" She squeaked.

Leafkit sighed and rolled over waking up Stonekit. He whispered something into his ear but Frostkit wasn't paying attention. She was gazing out at the clearing from the nursery entrance.

"Come on then" Stonekit meowed leading the way out of the nursery.

Frostkit's jaw dropped in amazement. The camp was huge! There were different dens everywhere and bigger cats too. She looked over at a tall rock 'that must be the highrock' she thought. Near the highrock there was a pale brown tabby with brilliant blue eyes. 'That must be Rainstar' she thought.

"Are you coming?" Frostkit jumped and looked at her brothers who were at another den.

She quickly ran over stopping next to them.

"This is the apprentices den, I'm going to sleep here in a few moons with Leafkit!" Stonekit meowed proudly.

"Me too! I'm going to be the bet apprentice ever!" Frostkit squeaked.

Stonekit laughed. "Your not going to be an apprentice! Your always going to be the runt and your always going to be useless!" He sneered.

Frostkit opened her mouth to say something but they were already waking away. She flattened her ears and followed behind.

They stopped at all of the other dens before the medicine cats den. Frostkit looked inside. There were piles of different herbs and other things. Frostkit decided that she liked the medicine cat den best.

Stonekit and Leafkit lead Frostkit over tot an open area.

"What's this?" She asked curiously.

"This is a place to play!" Leafkit smirked.

"Oh, okay I'm the warrior this time!" Frostkit squeaked and crouched down.

Stonekit laughed. "No your the mouse and nothing more" he laughed.

"I was the mouse last time Stonekit!" She complained.

"Maybe next time you can be the warrior" Leafkit meowed. Stonekit covered Leafkits mouth with his tail before he could say anything else.

"Your the mouse and always will be, get over it!" He meowed and jumped on her pinning her down.

"Hey no fair I wasn't ready!" She meowed trying to get free but he was much bigger then her.

"That's the point! A good hunter doesn't want their prey to be ready" he laughed.

"Okay fine you win! But I'm the warrior now!" She meowed but he wouldn't let her up.

"No, we haven't even hurt the little mouse yet" he smirked unseating his claws.

Frostkit's eyes went wide. "Mama said not to use your claws!" She squeaked trying desperately to get free.

"So what?" Stonekit laughed digging his laws into her shoulders.

"Ow stop it!" She yelped in pain but couldn't do anything.

He laughed "is poor mouse sad?" He raked his claws along her arm making small cuts.

"Stop it!" She cried and Leafkit clamped his jaws on her tail. Tears filled her eyes and she tried to get away.

"Stonekit! Leafkit!" An angry voice called and the instantly let her go.

Frostkit scrambled to her feet looking at her wounds which were bleeding.

"Is that any way to treat your sister? Go back to the nursery now!" She meowed angry.

The two of them glared at Frostkit then stalked off to the nursery.

"Are you okay Frostkit? What happened?" She meowed worried and licked her head.

"I'm fine" she mumbled.

"I'm taking you to Dawnfrost" she meowed her voice soothing. Frostkit nodded and Nightwing took her to the medicine cat den.

Frostkit laid in a soft nest as her mother and Dawnfrost talked. Her mother left soon after and Dawkfrost put sticky stuff on her arms and tail.

"Will I have battle scars now?" Frostkit asked.

Dawnfrost laughed quietly. "I don't think so, they are just small cuts and they will heal quickly." She meowed.

"Oh." Frostkit meowed and soon fell asleep.
