There had been no warning. No real evidence to reason the disappearance. Not only had Tanjirou vanished into thin air, but he'd taken Nezuko. It hit different for most. Their own smiles had suffered after losing their sunshine. Tanjirou was the glue for them, holding them together. With him gone, it felt barren and empty. Pointless. Zenitsu and Inosuke were affected the most. They no longer could focus on their missions. Over all, their effectiveness plummeted. Of course, that wasn't the only thing the fell. The number of Demon attacks had decreased drastically, leaving most to wonder what had happened. Truth was, there was never an answer. Too many questions remained in the open.

That being said, over a year of searching had become uneventful. Tanjirou was completely gone, along with his sister. It was unsettling, but forced the Demon Slayers to assume the worse. There was no body or word, so he had been marked deceased. Presumed dead. It was a blow to most, but one they were forced to stomach. Most knew time would mend, but it wouldn't be easy. Luckily, they had each other. They were sure things would straighten themselves in due time.

Which brought them a bit more into the future. Eventually Demons had seemingly vanished. There were no more attacks. No more slaughters. It was as if the Demons had simply died out. It was an impossible thought, but it granted peace. Not only for the humans, but for the Slayers that risked their lives. Since they were no longer needed, they began to fit back into society. To go about a daily life. They had finally achieved a part of their goal, even if Muzan was still alive. They'd be damned to let this opportunity fall from them.

Over a couple more years, the group remained in contact. They met up, gathered, and partied. Kept close. Which brought them to the festival within a large town. They moved together, working through the dense streets. Most were slipping away to check out stalls, to enjoy the fun and freedom. With all the changes, most had moved on and finally recovered. All besides Giyuu. He never had been the same. He never stopped searching. Tanjirou was like family, the last he had. The loss hit him harder than anyone.

He had broken off from the group at some point, knowing not a soul would truly notice. At least not soon enough. He broke off toward the East side, wandering openly without care. He simply wanted to be alone. His mind was still overwhelmed, so hearing a voice that brought back memories didn't aid his case. Hearing the voice drew his focus, a hope bubbling up in his stomach. He followed after it, weaving further away from the group as the moon bore down on the lit streets. It wasn't until he pushed past the taller part of the crowd that he felt his heart sink. That maroon hair was one of a kind, those hanafuda earrings moving with each gentle stride. Without much thought, he found his voice. He hadn't expected the other to overhear, with all the noise, but the maroon haired individual turned his way. That bright smile hitting him full force, bringing up too many emotions.

"T-Tanjirou?"

"Long time no see, Giyuu-san!"

He'd not entirely figured out how he ended up in his current situation. He starred to a child perched on Tanjirou's lap, the hair color blacker than night. Those maroon eyes were similar, a bright smile etched to the young girls face. He had been asked to follow to a restaurant, which he'd accepted without much thought. Which brought him to the current problem. Not only was Tanjirou alive, but he was with a child and his sister. Nezuko had remembered Giyuu, so it wasn't too awkward. The biggest issue was who else was present. Those bright eyes burning into the Slayer.

"So... How has everyone been?" Tanjirou's tone was soft, stirring Giyuu back to the present.

"They're fine... Recovered from your disappearance... Where did you go?"

"Well, I decided Demon Slaying wasn't right for me. Truth be told, I knew with who I fell in love with, I'd be casted aside should it come to light. Not to mention carrying a child that no one knew about." Giyuu nodded, still trying to grasp the situation.

"So... You and Muzan... Had a child?" Tanjirou nodded, holding his daughter tighter. "What's her name?"

"Maiko Kamado Kibutsuji. She's such a darling! Want to say hi, Maiko?" The little girl giggled, nodding as Tanjirou held her out. Giyuu froze for a moment before accepting. She rested on his leg, glancing to his hair. She reached for it, messing with strands as Giyuu felt a smile drift over his features. "Sorry for leaving without warning. If you all had known, you'd have placed me on trial."

"Fair... Are you the reason behind the loss of demon attacks?" Tanjirou nodded, opening his mouth to speak before another voice cut him off.

"We came to an agreement. We both wanted what was best for our daughter, so that involved no bloodshed. Tanjirou helped change my view on things."

"I see..." Giyuu looked away, his gaze wandering.

"So Giyuu-san, are you here alone?" The Demon Slayer paused for a moment, cursing to himself.

"Shoot! No, I'm not. Maybe you guys should hurry and leave before trou-" Giyuu was cut off by a loud voice, sending panic into his stomach. He turned his head to spot the group, who in turn noticed Tanjirou and their oldest enemy.

"Giyuu... There you are... Tanjirou?" The maroon haired male smiled normally, reaching for his daughter as he spotted them grow on edge. One even reached for their sword. Giyuu, noticing, stood before guarding the table. "What are you doing? That's Muzan as well as Tanjirou!"

"I understand... But there's a child here..."The group raised an eyebrow before spotting the little girl. It clicked at that point, most widening their gaze as Tanjirou spoke up.

"This is Maiko, Muzan and I's child. I hope we don't have trouble, after all, it has been so very long since we last spoke. So please, take a seat. I've a story to share."
