"come on ji-eun! we have to hurry before it starts!" chaeyoung exclaimed, pulling on my arm.
"chaeyoung, do i really have to? i don't even wanna be here, " i groaned. "i just wanna be at home in my PJs watching boys over flowers, not at some stupid concert. i don't even know who these people are." i say, pointing at a banner of the boy group with my index finger.
"well maybe you would know who they are if you would've paid attention all those times i've told you about them," chaeyoung said playfully as i rolled my eyes with a smile on my face.
"now come on ji," chaeyoung grabbed my hand, interlocked our fingers together and squeezed my hand before continuing to yank on my arm. "let us get to our seats!"
. . .
as soon as we stepped foot into the stadium, we were engulfed in all of the bright lights and loud sounds. there were people everywhere- not a single seat had been left empty.
"woah... " i watched chaeyoungs eyes light up as she gazed at the stage and venue. it was a very nice venue, every inch of the space lit up with colors, people, and lightsticks. there was so much energy in the room, it was almost overwhelming. i looked around to see people around us chattering with smiles on their faces, looking giddy.
chaeyoung dragged me down rows upon rows until we got to our seats. i glanced over at the sign on our row, section B row 2, right in front of the stage. we sat and waited for the concert to begin, which felt like an eternity. chaeyoung talked my ear off the entire time, telling me all about the group. I was only half paying attention, mainly daydreaming about my bed. the only details i could manage to remember were that they were a group called seventeen, they had 13 members, and some random bit of information about the leader...s.coups, wasn't it? i couldn't remember.
i was snapped out of my daydream by a loud blast of music and the screaming of fans. i quickly covered my ears, trying to block out the screams. i looked over at chaeyoung, who was already jumping up and down, screaming while waving her lightstick in the air. i looked up at the stage to see 13 figures rising from a huge platform underneath. once they became level with the stage, one member stepped out into the center, and the crowd went wild.
"carats make some noise!" he shouted, the screams from the crowd deafening.
i didn't know what it was, but there was something about him that i couldn't quite grasp. some sort of aura about him, maybe... i just felt drawn to him from the minute i laid my eyes on him.
the beginning of a song began to play when i felt something all of the sudden around my pinkie. i looked down to find a bright red string appear, tied around my finger. 'what the hell...?' i thought to myself, utterly bewildered. the string appeared to be connected to something- it ran all the way from our row up to the stage. i look up at the stage to find the leader who had a confused look across his face as well as he looked at his hand. i glanced at his hand to see that he too had a red string tied around his finger. what did this mean? what was happening?
before i could think another thought, our eyes met.
