I heard the door open and Alex's voice close in. "Oh my God, Natalie, what the bloody hell happened?! Why do you have blood all over you?!"
Blood? I tried to touch my skin if there was any, but it proved to be useless. I was numb. I couldn't feel anything. I looked up at Alex but I couldn't see her clearly, thanks to the tears blurring my vision. I could only see her silhouette, but it was enough to calm me.
I swallowed and wiped my hand on my eyes, and I was thankful that I could feel the wetness of it. I blinked and my vision came back to normal. I felt warm hands wrap around me, and based from the biceps, I already figured out it was Armand. It felt awkward so I tried to remove it, but he won't let me, and instead tightened his grip. I growled at him. "Let go!"
I saw him flinch, but he straightened up and looked me in the eye. "No! You aren't okay."
I gave him a glare and used my vampire strength to pry his hands off me. It worked and I stood up. Shoving him outside. "Get out! I'm going to get dressed!"
"But--"
I saw Alex pull him back with a scowl. "I wouldn't grace you with seeing my friend barely clothed. Get out or I'll kick you where the sun doesn't shine!"
This seemed to threaten him, as he backed away stomping his feet as he took steps. I laughed at him. What? The guy was hilarious. I turned around, closing the door, and put my clothes back on. After I finished, I took the dresses and went out.
Alex looked at me, and then the dresses, a scowl printed on her face. "If not for what had happened I would totally force you to wear that dress next week." She said, referring to the disgusting dress. I smirked at her. Hah! At least I was saved from the humiliation of flashing my butt for the world to see. Never mind that weird scene earlier.
She took the dresses from me and placed them at the counter, paying the lady for what we bought. She took the paper bag from the last and strolled away, humming and looking extremely happy. Armand and I exchanged a look and we both shrugged, following her. I think she has something planned, but whatever it was, I was too relieved to care. It took a lot of will not to do a happy dance right here. Can't believe she let me go.
As we exited the store, I felt something weird. For some reason, I was wary and cautious...afraid. Like something bad was going to happen. I haven't felt so on edge before...I wanted to ignore it, to just brush it off, but my instincts wouldn't let me. My Sub - Self wouldn't let me.
I slipped into my subconscious as we walked down the street.
"Kath, what's gotten you so riled up?" I asked her. She was practically running around! Like how she was when we got into close proximity with Leonel. The only difference was, it wasn't because she's giddy, but because of fear and panic.
"Natalie, I have a bad feeling about tonight..."
"Me too. What do you think is it?" Cause I seriously have no idea.
She shook her head and gave me a panicky look. "I don't know, too... all I know is that I'm grieving... someone, or rather, a lot of people will die tonight..."
I gave her a look. "Don't joke about things like that, please. It's not funny."
She sighed exasperatedly and ran a hand through her violet hair. Yes. Violet, just like me. Actually she looks exactly like me. She's my soul, all right. "I'm not joking, Natalie. I wish I was, too. But I'm not. People are gonna die, Natalie. Tonight."
