"Hey Starah, hey Cassie, mind if I sit with you guys?"

"Yes I mind" I replied icily.

He stood there with a huge grin spread across his face.

"Please excuse my friend here, she's suffering from stuck up syndrome." Cassie uttered.

I laughed at how completely stupid that sounded.

"No I'm not, I just don't like you, something's not quite right about you."

He looked me dead in the eyes without flinching and said " Really"

"Yes, really"

"Okay, okay enough you two, do I need to separate you guys?" Cassie interjected.

I sighed and pulled my lunch tray closer to myself, opened my soda and sipped from it. Gabe sat next to Cassie starring me down intensely. I felt uncomfortable that I fidgeted uncontrollably. I did this whenever I was nervous.

"So Gabe, how was New York, is it as glamorous like on the TV?" Cassie asked obviously trying to break the tension.

"It's very nice" he answered briefly. Turning his attention back unto me he asked,  "So um, Starah, are you going to ever speak to me? or are we going to continuously play this game of cat and mouse?" much to my irritation.

I didn't respond. I didn't want to indulge him any further, so I continued sipping my soda. He laughed dryly shook his head and began consuming his meal. The three of us sat there in total and complete silence after that. The bell then rang, signaling the end of lunch period.  While I was making my way to the waste basket to empty the unwanted contents of my lunch, I felt something cold, trickling down my head, unto my shoulders, neck the finally hands, Amber, had purposefully poured her soda on me.

Her legion of followers erupted into laughter as well as the rest of the student body. She finished off her embarassment by sarcastically asking "Oh my are you wet?" Man I so wanted to kill her. "Leave Gabe alone, he's mine! I don't even know what he sees in you, you're such a freak!" She spat stalking off to her next class.

I was so glad when the last bell rang, school was finally out. I could go home, crawl under a rock and die.

"I hope that doesn't leave a stain" Cassie said pointing to the wet spot on my top.

"Nah, it's just a little soda, it'll come out." I assured her.

"Hey, what's all the fuss about over there?" Cassie asked peeking over my shoulder. I turned around to see everyone gaping, staring and conversing about Gabe's car. "Wow, that ride is wicked" I heard Cassie mumble.

It was a Audi R8 Spyder. Big deal, it didn't matter to me because I drove a red Ferrari. But I got to admit, his ride was sweet.

"Can we go now?" I asked terribly irked.

"Yeah sure, you spoil all the fun." She replied

We got into my car and drove out of the parking lot. I pulled into Cassie's driveway and waited for her to exit.

"So do you need a lift tomorrow?"

"Nah, my car should be fixed and dropped off later, plus with your driving, even if my car wasn't fixed, I'd prefer the bus" She chuckled

"Ha ha, whatever, see you tomorrow Cass" and with that I reversed and headed straight home. Home was quiet, lonely and empty as usual. I sighed went up to my room and cranked up the tunes. I couldn't help but think about Gabe. Why was this totally hot boy hell bent on speaking to me? Amber was his number one fan and she already made it clear that he was hers.I cranked up the music louder hoping to drown out my internal thoughts.
