Chapter 1: A Bit About Y/N

Y/N's POV:

Hey, I'm Y/N. And man, my life's about to get weird.

I just moved to Essex in the UK from America, it's quite a big change. It's harder for me to understand people here, but I've managed for the past couple of months I've been here. There's not really a particular reason why I moved here. I finally got out of high school right before I came here, and there's this university here that's a couple of hours away. But I might not even go to college. It seems like a waste of time and a waste of money.

I've met some nice people, I think I've caught on to the way people talk a little better as well. I got a job at this vinyl/record shop, which pays decently. And I've got this cute apartment, it's a little small for my liking, but I manage. Things seem to be a little easier now that I've been living here for a while.

My friend is working at this bar called 'Bottle Grounds', and this Friday they're having a sort of talent show. My friend thought I should enter, the winner gets 200£ which is around 300 American dollars I think. It sounds interesting, and the extra cash would be nice. I might just play something on my guitar that would impress the audience and grab their attention.

Depending on the song I choose, I don't have to sing much either, which is a good thing. I don't hate my singing voice, and I don't think my voice is bad or anything. To be honest I think I have a decently nice voice. But singing in front of others by myself is not my forte.

Either way, it'll be fun, which is what I need right now.
