"ᴡᴇ'ᴠᴇ ʜᴀᴅ ᴀɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ, ᴛʜᴇᴏᴅᴏʀᴇ," Margret said to me as we walked the halls of Hogwarts after dark. Margret worked as an agent for the Ministry — well, what was left of it — and we had become close over the months of her being here.

She had been sent to Hogwarts to help keep an eye on everything after the battle, and I had been informed of her attendance. We didn't usually speak to each other, but I would consider her one of my few friends here.

I stopped in my tracks, "Another one?"

"Yes. Some muggle lady and her son. The father is nowhere to be seen," she informed me, as I rubbed my hand over the day-old stubble covering my face.

"Any new details?" There had been seven of these attacks in the last fortnight, and these are the only ones we had heard of. We are sure there have been more, but there's no evidence for them.

Part of me is waiting for the news of the deaths of my friends because I don't understand why they've been kept alive for so long. I love them with my whole heart, but some small part of me is wanting their pain to end so that they don't have to endure this anymore.

"There is DNA evidence of the father being present in one of the cells of the now abandoned building. But then he disappears, nothing else. The mother's body was shredded to pieces, and my team had a hard time trying to identify the body. The boy, however, had a singular shot to the head, seeming to kill him instantly as there was no sign of struggle," Margret explained, keeping her voice to a hushed whisper as I nodded along trying to piece this all together.

A group that had branched off the Death Eaters that go by the name of the Demiser's have surfaced underground. Hardly anyone knows about them, except the Ministry and a few witches and wizards in higher positions.

We are trying to keep the whole thing under wraps so that we don't cause any more frights to the public. I had been asked to help in the investigation as I was looking for Draco, Blaise and Pansy and we are thinking that the guys I'm looking for are the guys that they're looking for, too.

"I'll let you go, Theodore. Get some sleep, you look exhausted." She patted me on my back as she walked past me, but my mind was still focused on these attacks.

They were brutal and gory. Just last week, twin babies had been dismembered and posted to the parents because the Demiser's had believed them to be serious threats to their group.

I shook my head, the same heavy feeling that was in my chest when I had heard that story returned. I rubbed my face with my hands before making my way to my room.

As soon as I entered my room, I fell straight on my bed, closed my eyes and didn't open them again until morning came. I rarely fell asleep with my shoes and clothes on, but I had exhausted myself recently.

I had been trying to find out where they were. Trying to find out where I had been. My memories were there, just out of reach. They moved further and further away from me every time I went to reach them. Tormenting me with the answers I begged and pleaded and prayed for.

Elara Hayes had been on my mind recently and it was so fucking wrong. The way her body reacted to my words made me want to bend her over and spank her for being such a disobedient girl. And one of these days, I won't be able to hold back. I'm not sure she'd mind though.
