Till We Meet again, My extraordinary Friend

"Tahan ka na Samsam, you know naman kahit ikaw ang pinakamatakaw kong friend, ikaw pa rin ang the best para sa akin diba?" pag-alo sa akin ng sampung taong gulang na si Venice.

"Promise? Ako pa rin ang favorite friend mo kahit na iyakin ako?"

"Joker ka talaga Samsam, ikaw lang naman ang friend ko kaya sino pa ba ang magiging favorite ko kundi ikaw lang."

"What if we make a promise? A promise that no matter what happens,  we'll ll stick to each other."

"Okay game!! "

"I, Sammie Polyne Vergara promise to be with my favorite friend, Venice Maria Santorini, through thick and thin. I'll never leave her even when the whole world turned their back on her, I'll stay with her with her best and embrace her at her worst. Today, I promise."

" I, Venice Maria Santorini promise to be with my favorite friend Sammie Polyne Vergara, through thick and thin. I'll be with her in achieving her dreams, help her embrace herself, love herself and be proud of herself. I'll love her more at her worst. Today, I promise."

Bata pa lamang kami ni Venice ay kumpulan na ako ng tukso dahil sa pagiging mataba ko. Madalas ay pinapalampas ko na lang ang mga panglalait nila pero hindi pwede iyon kapag kaharap si Venice.

I met her when I was in primary school and I was 6 years old. Unlike me, she was not born with a golden spoon in her mouth, she just got into our school because she got the brain and talent. She's a scholar.

She came when I think no one's gonna accept me at school. She stood up for me and never leave me.

When we reach High School, the bullying didn't stop. It got worsened.

"Oops. Natapon, my bad. Deserved naman 'yan ng mga katulad mo so you should thank me. And FYI, girlfriend ako ng lalaking nilalandi mo kaya matuto ka'ng lumugar, ugly pig!" I was about to go inside the cafeteria and wait for Venice there because she said she'll just go to the comfort room but Shaira and her group blocked my way. Mabilis kumalat ang frappe na sinadya nyang matapon sa akin kaya naman naiiyak na lang akong yumuko.

Nakarating siguro sa kanya ang balita na kinausap ako ni Roce pero ang pag-uusap na 'yon ay para lamang sa project namin sa Physics.

"Stop!!! Hoy kayo! Anong karapatan sa tingin n'yo ang mayroon kayo para ganituhin ang best friend ko?! Pare-parehas lang tayong mag-aaral dito kaya huwag kayong feeling superior!"

"We'll do whatever we please and no one can't stop us, not even you!"

"Blah blah blah wala akong pakialam! Mamamatay akong walang pakialam sa sinasabi mo, masyado kang nagmamaganda kahit yung ganda mo, teka maganda ka ba?"

Aalis na sana si Shaira ngunit dahil sa sinabi ni Venice ay napahinto sya sa paglalakad.

"Anong sinabi mo?"

"Walang ulitan sa bingi. I said what I said."

"Ah ganon ah!"

Things happened so fast. I just saw ourselves picking a physical fight with the girls.

"What is happening here!? All of you! Go to my office now!"

"Pero Ma'am, sila po ang nauna!"

"I said now Miss Benitez. I'm sure you don't want me to repeat what I said." mataray na sagot ni Miss Ysabel kay Shaira.

It's always been like that until we graduated High School and entered College. Venice served as my savior, my sister, my partner in crime, my food buddy, my motivator, and my best friend.
