Dean was on his way to school, the first day of senior year was officially starting and he didn't know how to react. He had already received his textbooks the week prior to school starting, having his locker number and combination on a slip of paper placed in his caramel-colored hand. He made his way to the metal door rather quickly, unlocking his combination locker and glancing down at the slip of paper every so often, his ebony hair falling over his red eyes like a water-droplet rippling through water on waves. His hair was rather short in the back but the length in the front was a bit longer with just enough bang to cover his eyes if he styled it to do so. It was straight, thick hair that seemed a mess but the look worked for him.
As he pulled the locker open with a yank, the sound of two voices echoed through his ears. Dean only glanced back briefly as if not to be caught staring, there were two boys laughing and talking with each other as they passed by him. One of them was his closest friend Michael, the other was unknown. Upon his notice, Michael smiled brightly to Dean and rose a hand to greet him,
"Hey, Dean! Long time no see! This is my boyfriend Takashi! He just transferred here for this year! Takashi, this is one of my best friends Dean Evans!" to which only nodded in response, he wasn't much of a talker. Takashi smiled a glimmering smile to the other, holding his hand out to Dean who sternly took his hand and shook it. Dean observed as the two walked off to their own lockers together, holding hands and almost skipping out of joy.
The rest of the day was filled mostly with introductions by the teachers and other students. As it would turn out, Dean had a few classes with Takashi but only one with Michael. In one of their last classes though, Dean decided to sit next to Takashi and a wave of nervousness washed over him, his heart thumping loudly in his ears, so much so that he thought everyone around him could hear it too. Takashi smiled a friendly smile to the other but other than that he didn't pay him much mind. Dean had a hard time concentrating in that class, he wasn't use to talking much or being social to will up the courage to speak to someone new was the equivalent of trying to pull the legendary sword Excalibur from the rock.
The students were currently supposed to be interacting with their other classmates, introducing themselves and what not but because of the aura which surrounded Dean nobody dared step closer to him, an angry and mean look sitting on his resting face. When he finally had enough courage, he spoke in a low baritone which made him sound much braver than he actually was,
"Takashi right?" which caused the brunette's head to snap over. Takashi had neck-length brown hair which tapered from only a tad shorter in the back to about chin length in the front. It had an ever so slight wave to it which curled around the various freckles that not only covered his face but the rest of his body as well.
"Yes, you're Dean. Michael has been introducing me to a lot of people today so it's been rather hard to keep names straight." Takashi smiled a warm smile, his two different colored eyes standing out with how they squinted, one an ocean blue and the other a vibrant purple. Dean gulped, it was going to be a rather difficult task to attempt to befriend the other.
