"Marinette, you're going to be late for school again if you don't wake up! You've already snoozed your alarm at least 16 times now!" called a quiet, high pitched voice.

Marinette grumbled in response, turning over. Her eyes hesitantly fluttered open, knowing she'd have to go to school today, for yet another 8 hours of agony. Although, she shouldn't really be complaining, because she'd get to stare at Adrien's soft, fluffy golden hair for most of the day.

"Alright, Tikki. I'm awake, I'm awake."

The thought of her beloved Adrien was usually the only thing that motivated Marinette to get herself out of bed. She rolled back over and lifted the covers gently as she sat up, nearly bumping her head on the small window that led to her balcony. She groggily picked up her phone on her wooden bedside table and flipped it over to check the time.

"8:20?! Tikki, why didn't you wake me up earlier?" Marinette exclaimed, as she rushed down her shiny white staircase.

Tikki giggled, used to her chosen's morning routine. "I tried, Marinette! You didn't seem to take my comments into thought though."

The ladybug miraculous holder sighed as she made a beeline to her wardrobe, attempting to pick out an outfit for the day. She was still half asleep, trying her best to rush herself along. She quickly picked out a plain white t-shirt with longer than average sleeves, paired with an orange and pink dress to go over top. It had thin straps and it made the perfect quick outfit combination. She didn't have time to do up her hair, so she seized her hair brush and ran it through her soft, cobalt blue hair and slid a white headband in to tie the outfit together. She slipped on her white sneakers that sat close by the trapdoor to her room and made her way to the bakery downstairs.

Before she knew it, she burst out the door a small bag with a cheese and ham croissant in hand, her pink school backpack and the small side purse that she kept Tikki hidden in. Luckily, her school was just across the road. She flew up the stairs just in time and made her way to her seat next to Alya, panting heavily.

"Girl, you need to get your sleep schedule in order. You can't keep staying up so late at night," her best friend remarked from beside her. She gave Marinette a sympathetic smile and went in for a hug.

Marinette sighed, "I know, I know. I just have so much school work to do lately it's getting hard to keep up with. Not to mention all the baking my parents have me doing. You wouldn't believe me if I told you how many macaroons I've made in the past 2 days!" It was true. Mid-year exams were coming up for her 11th year of Lycée and it was getting very intense. The bakery was getting extremely busy now that it was heading into Fall, so she had to lend a helping hand to her parents, making late night study sessions her only option. Not only this, but her evening patrols as Ladybug with Chat Noir took up at least an hour every night, which left her even more exhausted by the end of the day.

It was that moment when she realised Adrien and Nino had turned around, ready to join in the conversation. Adrien tilted his head at her inquisitively. Marinette didn't have much of a reaction though, much to Alya and Nino's surprise, but rather she just laid her head down on the desk and let out a loud groan.

"Are you alright, Marinette? You seem super tired." Adrien offered.

She lifted her head to find his piercing green eyes making direct contact with her sparkling sea blue ones. She nodded, completely unconvincingly. Marinette rubbed her eyes and fixed her headband that was now wonky from the position she had made herself comfortable in.

Adrien turned back around and sighed, his eyes wandering to the half-finished, still hot caramel latté sitting on his desk. "Here, have this. I think you need it much more than I do." he said, smiling sweetly as he held out his drink for her.
