This is one of the first poems I wrote that I let other people read! It is now published in one of the Canadian poetry institute's anthologies. Enjoy!

Winter is here
The winds that announce his arrival sound
A bewitching music that sweeps over the earth
When the music stops the first snow falls
It coats the earth in a cold icy layer
Frosting the trees and freezing the ground
His cold winds sending a layer of ice over every pond
His frozen touch brings an ethereal glow to the land
beautiful destruction is once again brought by winter
Not a single blade of grass or lonely brook escapes his icy touch
Until springs warm breeze returns, the earth is cast in a ghostly white
His cold air surrounding every living thing
Winter is here.
