Hiraeth.
A word referring to one's longing for home, a feeling reminiscent of more than just homesickness. It's the yearning for a place that no longer exists or perhaps never did, somewhere that one cannot return to.
Kesta Xalrich grew up hating the place she called home. To her, it was a symbol of confinement, a life spent following rules for the sake of her own protection. She longed for the chance to be free of her familial restraints, taking for granted the good life she was given—until it was suddenly ripped away from her.
Anakin Skywalkernever had a place to call home. The sands of tatooine were a prison and he longed for something more than just the blinding lights of coruscant. His destiny felt interlocked with the stars, but as life may have it, his mind stayed static to his jedi duties. However, discipline and trust only go so far.
It issaid that the force works in mysterious ways. It's the invisible hand that pushes and pulls, molding the outcomes of those it binds. It's the same longing that tempted their paths and hurled them into oblivion, a fate that brought them together and will bring them both home.

AUTHOR'S NOTE,
hi guys! welcome back to the new and improved version of hiraeth! i had taken it down previously due to a lack of inspiration, but now my star wars phase has returned and i'm ready to write again! i just wanted to explain a few things before we jump into the story:
this book takes place in a sort of au setting around attack of the clones and revenge of the sith, but it doesn't directly focus on those plot lines. i want to go in my own direction and focus on my character's background, which is why you may see some altered canon info throughout the book (for instance, padmé and anakin won't get married in aotc, for obvious reasons).
another thing (before y'all come for me) is i realize there is a bit of an age gap between marina moschen and hayden christensen and even though they're adults, i know that can make some people ✨uncomfy✨ but i just need you guys to remember that hayden was in his 20s when he was filmed in the prequel series, so technically it's okay.
this is my first time writing star wars fic and i'm still figuring things out, so any support, advice, etc., you might have for me would be greatly appreciated! i'm very much in love with the idea behind this book and i hope you guys are just as excited as i am and enjoy the story ♡
