Dreaming Out Loud

When you close your eyes

Do you dream of me?

Do you think about the times we shared?

Do you even give a care?

I, on the other hand, dream of you immensely

Trying so hard not to

But it's as if you're haunting me

Making me dream in my sleep

Of all the places I could see

Reality may not be so kind

But everything's fine

When you're on my mind

My world is still, yet time slips by

Why did you have to go and shatter everything?

Especially when it was just the beginning

Why do you cease to understand

My inner turmoil and my shaking hands

Sometimes I dream out loud

In color and shades, never seen before

In hopes of mending the things we never had

And crying, just a tad

Few months have passed by

And I know you must have forgotten me

Yet why do I keep dreaming of you

Even though it's your face I never see

Your silhouette scars my pillow

The tingle of your touch still remains

It's graceful and beautiful like a willow

But the heat has faded away

Your face is getting lost in a thousand faces

Yet in my dreams we're closer than ever before

It's all too overwhelming

Now I'm not awake, but simply dreaming out loud in this bubble of haze
