"Em-Ember?!" I opened my eyes, immediately seeing her form. "You promised! Ember! You promised." My voice broke off. I grasp the keys as I fumble with the lock. When the door finally opens I rush back to Ember.

"Don't leave me." The villain easily lifted her. He slowly climbed the stairs, he peeked through the door. Sighing in relief he sprints to the door, leaving to the side walk.

"Baka," the hero whispered to the villain. "You should've let me die..." the hero's half lidded eyes scanned the room. "I was trying to die heroically. You know save the enemy." The child tried to smile.

"No, I might die like that, but you-you will never die, your story will be told for years, you'll live on in their hearts." The villain grabbed her hand, "you promised." He squeezed her hand. She nods.

"I know, I'm sorry..." her eyes flutter shut. "I couldn't bear seeing you like that." She opened her eyes. "You had just finished healing from being stabbed, I couldn't let you— let you die."

"You should rest." He let her hand fall from his grasp as he walked to the opposite side of the room. She shivered in her sleep, mumbling incoherently.  She shoots up gasping, her eyes wildly searching for something. She calms when her eyes meet the villains' shocked irises. And then she whimpers in pain grasping at her stomach. The male helps her lay back down. "Baka..." he whispers, "you scared me."

"Come back..." Ember reaches for Blade, she rolls over giving him space to lay. "Please." She pats the space beside her. "Don't leave me." Blade notices the trails of tears cascading down her cheeks.

"I will never leave you." Blade lays next to her, pulling her in. She rests her head against his chest, and she falls asleep to blade's heart beat. Blade rests his chin on her head, falling asleep soon after her.

"Mmm" the hero hums as she moves closer to the heat. The villain groans, tightening his arms around the hero. "Blade..." the hero mumbled, pushing the villain away. "Too hot...." The villain released his grip, sitting up and looking at the hero.

"It's cold in here tho..." the villain examined the hero's sweat filled face, pressing the back of his hand against her forehead. "You're burning up." The villain quickly called for a nurse.

"Her fever is getting worse." The nurse told the villain as she worked. The villain nervously paced. " she should be getting better. Not worse." The nurse looked completely confused. Only making the villains worry deepen.

The villain was ushered out as the doctor entered, leaving him to wander the halls. The villain walked to the hero's house, her parents hadn't come to visit her yet, he assumed it was because they didn't care, but he did. He knocked on the door and waited for it to open. "What do you want?" The father growled, holding a half empty beer.

"Your daughter is in the hospital..."the villain began but was cut off by the male.

"I don't care about that stupid bitch! Let her die!" The male screamed and slammed the bottle against the wall, shattering it. "Don't let me see you again." The villain stood dumbfounded in front of the closed door.

Blade entered Ember's room shortly after the doctor left. "Are you doing better?" Blade watched as the hero's eyes closed tiredly. She nodded, giving him a gentle smile.

"Just tired." She mumbled the words, barely loud enough for the villain to hear. The villain grabbed her hand, squeezing it.

"Just.." the villain took a deep breath, "just get better."

The hero roamed the roof, not wanting to go home. "You finally got out." The villain pulled the hero closer to him.

"Yeah," she blushed, avoiding his eyes, "happy birthday..." she smiled happily at him. "I didn't get you anything. I'm sorry." The villain smiled crookedly.

"Well, I got you something," the hero's face fell.

"Now I feel even worse." The villain's smile grew.

"Don't worry about it." He chuckled as he dragged the woman to a small cozy diner. She pouted the whole walk there, still trying to free herself from his grasp.

"Fine, but I'll pay for half of it..." the hero slumped in her seat. " could I..." she frowned, shaking her head. "Never mind." She fiddled with her sleeves, looking down at the table.

"Could you...?" The villain teased the hero.

"Well.. I-I was w-wondering if you... well, if you would allowmetostaywithyou?" Her cheeks turned a deep strawberry red. She finally looked up. "May I stay with you..." she whispered the words, smiling at the villains goofy grin.

"Of course!" The villain cheered once again as their food arrived.

"You can stay here..." the villain walked you to the largest room, the only one with a bed.

"No, I'll sleep on the couch! I can't take your bed..." the hero turned to leave, stopped by the villain's warm grasp.

"It's fine...really. You take the bed." The villain pushed her onto the mattress, quickly fleeing the room.

"Baka." The hero mumbled as she stood, dusting off her clothes. She pouted as she pulled a blanket from the bed, wrapping it around herself before heading to the living room. The hero gave an evil smirk, looking to the peaceful villain.

"No- no,no! Don't you dare!" The villain peaked his eyes open finding the hero. He scrambled to sit up, getting tangled in his blankets.

"Too late!" The hero leaped onto the couch, landing on the villain and snuggling in. "So, what movie are we watching?" The villain groaned, but turned on the tv anyway. They spent the next hour watching a Disney movie.

"My turn to choose." The villain chuckled evilly.

"Nnngg" the hero groaned, "not a horror movie!!" The hero pouted as the movie began.

Her eyes were squeezed shut and she clung to the villain's arm. "It ended.."the villain chuckled when the hero flew wide-eyed off of the couch.

"Meanie."the hero stood, and grabbed her blanket. "I'm going to bed." She rushed to the room, covering herself with the blankets.
