Lost in a Split

The Beginning of a world at war

Brody "Hiro" Alonso is only ten years of age when he and his family are casually sitting on the sofa watching TV when all of a sudden a loud explosion shakes the entire house startling the family. Brody's mother Amy changes to the news channel showing an anchorwoman speaking about how a German dictator Named Maxson Splitzer's military the Straxis army were currently invading the eastern city of Vaediff, Amy franticly turns off the TV trembling Amy and Brody's father Jaxson shout for the kids to hide in the basements hide bunker. Brody scared reluctantly agrees to pick up his baby sister Rose and rushes downstairs to the basement bunker hatch with Jaxson "Jax" closely behind gathering supplies as another explosion goes off closer than before sending things flying off shelves and out of cabinets even food from the fridge was dumping out of the fridge at this rate.

Jaxson hiding under the basement door to avoid falling debris waiting for Amy to hurry up "Amy hurry up! Not much time before the rest of the house goes !" says Jaxson shouting toward Amy to get her to hurry, Amy stumbling with the shaking happening nearly falling over on the way to the basement when she is a foot away from Jaxson yet another explosion goes off this time blowing the roof and a chunk of the adjacent wall falling onto Amy crushing her."Noooo! Amy!"Jaxson yells in agony as the rubble nearly hits Jax who startled about what had just happened darts for the basement door with tears running down his cheeks, upon entering the bunker taking off a locket he was wearing placing it in his pocket gently locking the door he collapses to the ground in distraught but glad to see Brody and Rose safe and away from danger. Brody curious to where his mother is heads over to where Jax had collapsed to his knees still holding a crying Rose asks his father where his mother is sitting down next to him, Jax whipping away tears takes Rose from Brody instantly calming her down "tell you when your older son" Jax replied setting Rose down in a crib with a pacifier in her mouth.

TEN YEARS AFTER THE INVASION... Splitzer has taken over most of eastern Europe, Brody now twenty years old is just entering college is upstairs studying while his now ten-year-old sister Rose is on her spring break from the sixth grade. Jaxson hard at work on his paperwork do the next day when the family is interrupted by a knock on the front door when Jax peeps out a crack in the wall when he sees a Straxis commander yelling with a foreign accent to open the door. Jaxson angrily grips the nearest counter "Dam Straxis bucketheads! They're always causing trouble ever since they took over Vaediff" Jax quietly remarks to himself. Brody taking a break from his studying walks to the kitchen for a snack when he takes notice of Jax peeping out the crack in the wall near the door sneakily "Straxis soldiers again? Huh, dad? They always come to this area of the city to harass us after the invasion that killed mom." Brody says a little too loud "Brody! Keep it down will you?! Grab the gun while your at it to please, oh and tell your sister to hide behind something" Jax replied with a stern look on his face towards Brody. Brody looking back at Jaxson replies "the old Colt? What are you going to do to shoot a commander? That seems like suicide to me!" Brody replied glancing a concerned look at Jax "Brody! Just go grab it will you!" Jax said scolding Brody when Brody comes back with the colt handing it to Jax the commander knocks again more aggressively than before.

Eventually the commander kicks down the door with backup closely behind followed by Splitzer himself, the family jumps back in response Jax ushering Brody back behind him for cover as Straxis soldiers flood the house. Splitzer entering the house stopping where the kitchen table was before getting knocked over "Mr. Alonso I believe you have something we need, do you not have it?" Splitzer says aggressively ordering his men to hold fire "Splitzer! How dare you vandalize my home for disgusting paws off yours! By the way, it's Jax, and no I don't have it anymore you made sure of that years ago! Brody for once do as I say and get yourself and Rose as far away from her as you can, go now!" Jax shouts pulling out the Colt in an attempt to finish off Splitzer once and for all. The Straxis soldiers upon realization gun down Jax in retaliation "No!" Brody shouts running in the opposite direction to where a scared Rose was hiding, Brody then proceeds to grab Rose by the hand rushing out the back door.

Later... Now at Camp Fallen Oak on the coast of Chesterfield of western Asia, Brody wakes up in a tent with Rose sleeping on the opposite of the tent so Brody could keep an eye on her, when Brody leans up from laying down a silver chain slightly hanging out from his pocket when he pulls it out he sees none other than his father's pendant locket he got when Amy died "is this? Dad's necklace?! He must've snuck it in my pocket when he the Straxis invaded their home looking for an apparent fuse" says a confused Brody thinking to himself when he opens it a bottle-shaped machine part falls out "is this what I think it is? He had it in the pendant this whole time? Clever thinking dad" Brody said smiling slightly, Brody stands up nudging Rose to wake up "where to next Hiro?" says Rose waking up looking at the map pinned against Brody's new knapsack "next when head-up through western Asia to Scotland, we have family up there" replied Brody Smiling back at Rose handing her cereal for breakfast putting the locket back in his pocket slipping the fuse back in locking it tightly.
